Reliever rating is too low

In 25, the overall quality of league's relievers seem too low.

Over 20 years of league play, it's very rare to find a reliever with overall rating of 60 or higher.
It's not just a matter of relative rating, there aren't actually that many good bullpen in the league.

I think it needs a little tweaking.

I'm not talking about intelligent and work ethic...

If you play a fictional league and draft historical players, 30 years into it, there are still only like 3 4 and 1/2 star pitchers and one 5 star in a 30-team league. Home runs are very low, even in 1998. Guys lead the league with 29. it seems like fictional leagues with historical drafted players is just not working this year properly. Which is sad.

Also, as i am sure you know, the jersey fonts are not working only the present ones. Example, if you want the 1980's road Royals white letters and numbers, the file does not upload. The preset dark blue only works.

This is just because since RP's do not get rated that highly in real life compared to players of other positions, we tweaked down the overalls for them in-game as well since they'd been a little high before. Their actual ratings will not have changed though, it's just that a RP who might've had a 70 overall previously might have more like a 55 currently.

Have not played current patch but from previous ones relievers have been problematic. Relievers consistently do not have higher stuff then starters. It is usually significantly lower after multiple seasons. This is not an issue with default rosters or even those generated in the first several years of a fictional league. It is a long term save issue. Relievers as a whole have a lower k% then starters which has never happened in real life for any season after 2000 (I didn't check ones before).

The only cure I have found to this was a custom feeder league with 13 RP positions and 3 SP positions on each team.

In 2024, There are 8 RP with 70 or more, and after a decade there are only 0(or 1). As time goes on, I rarely see relievers over 70 overalls, then is pool of RP in 2024 abnormal?
Also, It becomes harder to find players with very high stuff like Edwin diaz or Josh Hader.

Honestly, this is good. There's nothing quite so hilarious as a RP free agent sitting out 2-3 months of the season waiting for big contract offers that never hilarious.

The entitlement of those guys. Sheesh.

When you create new teams into a league in the beta for some reason there are no pants. No default designs option available in the drop down and just pure black pants. You can still load a specific file, but can't create any new ones.

When will the schedules be fixed? On the old versions, when we generated schedules, they'd actually mix up the schedules. Now I'm forced to use the same schedule every year

I don't have any file at all in my sock folder. I reinstalled the patch restarted my computer (Mac) and still nothing.

I think you could definitely argue guys like Diaz and Hader who have historically high K rates are somewhat abnormal, but on the other hand it may be that we should create a few more outliers among the generated players. It's certainly something we'll take a look at for a future patch.

I understand the overall “relative” concept here, but don’t be too dismissive of this idea. My favorite way to play OOTP is to start with an expansion draft, and in last year’s version I bagged Evan Phillips as my closer plus several other outstanding relievers to stock the pen. There I was, as an expansion team, and I had arguably the best and deepest bullpen in baseball. Would that have happened in real life? Hell no.

Haven’t tried this year’s version yet but I presume it hasn’t changed much.

Fixed it. Reinstalled last official patch and then reinstalled beta patch.

After this last patch players are disappearing again. I changed my pitcher and he was invisible until the next inning.

Will there be any warning that this patch goes public?

I'm concerned about online league commish's getting their game patched through steam automatically before getting a change to import exports from the previous version

We will have a few small fixes coming in another public beta tomorrow, and then the patch will likely be released publicly on Wednesday.

Should also mention I was able to do this within the self-imposed confines of filling an entire 26 man roster, total draft of 35 players, no more than 3 from any one team. I also bagged some good positional players and my SP rotation was decent, but that’s a different conversation.
