A bit confused by this change, I downloaded the public beta patch too so trying it out now, does that mean I can never train a player in a secondary position he knows like before? Before the patch I was able to set the position first, then the pop up would come to train him in that position I just set if he knew how to play that position, but now even when I change positions it still lists his primary position as the position it will train in..

I get the limit in terms of training positions multiple times during that same off-season, thus makes sense to limit that, but just curious if I'm missing something now with this new change coming with this patch.

No still the same on my 3440*1440 ultra wide monitor. To be fair I think by the time Matt posted in that thread this patch was already set, and it wouldn't be until the next one that changes would be made. At least I hope it gets done then.

Yeah you don't get to choose, it'll be their primary position, but it won't make a huge difference. Successfully completing any infield/outfield defensive program will increase certain infield/outfield ratings, just slightly differently based on the position.
For example, the main difference between training at first base versus shortstop is that training at first is easier but you get less out of it, whereas shortstop is harder but you get more to the infield ratings if successful.
The intent was always to be training at their main position; next year I'm hoping to add a proper way to select the position to train which the system supports.

Hi Markus! The issue is that the batter vs. pitcher history no longer shows in the pre-game screen. It appears that this is because the game options were moved into a more prominent position and there is a space issue.

I started a thread and posted a 24 vs. 25 comparison screenshot. Unfortunately, I can’t link because I’m posting from my phone, but I would very much appreciate it if you could take a look.

Updated MLB roster set (need to start new game for changes to apply)

Markus - If I have a template saved that is used to create a new game, does that also need to be recreated or can still be used and the new roster set will be applied? My assumption is the latter, but want to confirm.

Players and ratings are part of the template, so you would need to re-create it in order to get the updated rosters and ratings changes.

Try adjusting your max frame rate, this can help sometimes.

Updated to beta on steam yesterday. Was in offseason on the same test league I have been using. Weird rule 5 situations just popped up - I only noticed because my highest potential eligible player is 18.

Dec 21, 2028 rule 5 draft - I have a rule 5 eligible player who is 18 years old. He was a minor league FA signing (by the AI) on 6/6/27. Time as a professional is 1 year, 194 days.

Then sorted by age. I have 10 players age 20 or younger that are rule 5 eligible. One has 4+ years as a professional but obviously signed at 16 so should require 5 years. The rest are under 4 years and all obviously signed under age 18. There are another 22 players that are 21 year olds - to have at least 4 years as a professional they all needed to sign before they were 18, it is possible some of them have 5 years and signed at 16 but I have not gone through all. This is just my team, not the entire league.

Not sure if this is old and I am just noticing now or new. Is there any way this could be right?
