Reliever salaries (Jhoan Duran wants $37M/yr in my current save) and players not developing (even when accelerating development in settings and maxing out development budget) are the two things I'm noticing in my current MLB sim. I'm in 2027 and I can't get any players I've drafted from 2024 to present above high A or so.

Nice. Been waiting for this patch to start the "Explosive Go Salmon" Rip and Destroy Revenge Tour!

I wanted two fixes:

1. Fix Backup/Restore Game so target box shows at the bottom in order to type in a value for a new game without affecting the original backup. Without a target box I can only play my original game and said play will change things as the season goes along. If I could instead make a target like Test1 running Test1 would only affect Test1 while keeping the original in backup.

2.Fix Team Home Screen/Strategy/Global Strategy Settings so one can type in double or triple digits for starting pitchers max and relief pitcher max. Unlike previous versions, it appears that one may only type a value of 0 to 9.

Any hope for these with Patch2?

I've been able to build up a couple draftees by year 3. Granted, the draft classes are awful.

You're dead on about relievers, that is broken.

Thank you for update on patch!

The development issue is why I am no longer playing and waiting until someone tells me its fixed.

It's not just my players that aren't developing in my leagues, it's all the players who weren't seed players. I'm in year 12 of a save--12 team fictional league with standard player development settings. There are currently 6 batters under the age of 30 with overall rating over 50, and literally 0 SP over 50.

Dear gawd, I thought things were going bad in my OOTP universe. I still can nurse the system to get guys to 60.

But yeah . . . the game in its current form is just an unfun grind. I don't know who asked for these "improvements", but the devs may want to filter their inputs better. I can't imagine anyone saying, "What would be fun is if the game became hell on Earth . . . but with spreadsheets!"

Any chance we can all get a code for the beta channel on Steam? At this point, I'd sooner play a buggy beta than this monstrosity.

Why not? In my current game, I lost David Bednar (60 rating) to the Mets because he signed a five-year $29.4m/yr deal. I know the economics of baseball are changing, but dayum.

While we're all noting the reasons why we've quit playing to await the patch: fan interest is broken for me. It doesn't go up with losses or down with signings at all. To get it to even budge, I had to literally cut every popular player on the team. And then it moved alllllllll the way from 59 to 54.

Seriously, I don't know who asked for these "improvements," but dear devs, please stop listening to them. YouTube and social media aren't reality, and I assume those were the sources because I can't imagine how anyone would the game to become a soulless grind. Please, all I want to do is live in an alternate universe where the Pirates win a World Series before I die.

As soon as we can do builds again, we'll release a public beta. But as of right now, the servers are still down. Advertised redundancy my a$$.

Cosmetic fixes?

No changes to cosmetic issues, e.g. bad clear day sky box with buildings in it? Other cosmetic issues have also been reported.

On development, a couple of the changes we made, those quoted, should help here.

We've also been looking at some other development tweaks as well to get some young players, especially batters, to develop a little faster. They will likely end up in this patch or the next one.

I'm not sure about those specific issues, but I think there are likely a few cosmetic tweaks here.

We usually don't list out minor fixes and tweaks, especially if they're cosmetic.

Always!

Unfortunately the server issues also affected the roster db for a few days, so there might not be quite as many tweaks there as usual, but we have that set up on another server now and we'll work on catching up there.
