Do you think it will lead eventually to a real simulation/arcade mode, when you can actually control players. Because improving the 3d mode year after year leads me to think that we will get a full fledge baseball arcade/simulation game eventually.

20 years of playing the game and reading Markus' posts over that time period tells me that is a "no".

The obvious glitch I see is that a catcher throwing to second base seems almost to throw the ball straight up. When the focus shifts from the pitch to the base, the throw is normal, but the initial throw took a little getting used to.
Also, there are some minor graphical glitches--the ball seems to be off to the side of the fielder a bit more than it should be, for example. And finally, a problem of both OOTP 24 and 25--players thrown out are usually obvious--by about 30 feet. Also, errors are predictable because fielders will move unusually quickly prior to them happening. The way a fielder dives for a ball, for example, tells me that the throw will be wide. It would be nice if things looked a little more natural. |

For me, the dynamic and follow ball cam are too bouncy. I keep the cam static, and put everything at the HP Action angle and it works great for me.
Yea, still some annoying bugs in the animations, but also some subtleties that are increasingly making the action smoother and more realistic. It’s getting there, for sure |

just a suggestion, but if you d/l the camera angles from this post https://mega.nz/file/lbExHBZa#RbO67U...2xTRefTLbJtNnk and use the following camara angels in the camera option section (Default, Wide, and Field Box 1), makes for a pretty "good" viewing when playing out your games...

I just don't understand why the 3D animation default camera views are not smoother. By now, the basic camera views should be perfected. The dynamic action camera and zoom cameras are not well coordinate. Herky and jerky at best. Camera transition should be smoother.
The default settings are not all smooth when you use dynamic action and zooming. I never use them because they are just plain bad. The default settings using dynamic action and zooming should work better than they do. The 3D animators should be able to create smoother views and transitions from one camera to another.. I would like to view a game like it is a TV broadcast. Customization is great, but it is not easy for me to create it. I would prefer not to have to create custom views. I am just not good with computers. It is hard for me to get go results as I don't really understand all the various refinements required and how to navigate the camera view customization.. Here is what I would like to see: Have the pitch camera behind the mound or behind home plate in the first level of the stands or maybe behind the catcher, but raised up a little bit to get a good view of the pitcher and batter. The action camera would be a wide view that would show the entire play. I eventually end up with a fairly good set of camera views, but it requires a lot of work on my part.. It's a shame that the game can't retain my previous camera views when I convert to the new version each year. |

If any of you have customized your camera views using the dynamic action cameras and zooming, please post them so we can use them.
Does anyone have dynamic action cameras and zooming views that you like? |

I am not in the game but use the "copy cameras from" option and just navigate to last year's ballpark folder and select the file from the same park. So if you're doing Wrigley Field for v25.. Open Wrigley in the Ballpark editor, go to the 3d tab and open the park. Select "copy cameras from".. a popup box appears Navigate to v24 and select Wrigley and then the wrigley_field.ootp3d file. It will import any park cameras that don't already exist in v25, ie all of the custom cameras. Takes less than a minute per park once you get going to do the default parks that come with the game. Of course if you added cameras to Silvam's historical parks it could take a while to import them one stadium at a time. One caveat... Whenever you import\add cameras to a park open at least one of them and save it to it's current name. If you don't do this sometimes the new cameras don't "stick" (sometimes they do, but I don't know why that is?). For clarity if the Wrigley example above imported 6 new cameras you only need to open and save one of them to get all of them to "stick".

I recently converted my Islandian Pro Alliance dynasty league to OOTP25.
I am using the most current update. I was very pleased with the 3D Animation. They have perfected it a lot. It is smoother. The plays at first base involving the first baseman and pitcher are improved. Still not looking nice and natural, but better. I did not see any weird foul fly balls... no players running through the fences any longer... No ball going through the fences any more. I'm glad to see the third baseman tagging third base more oftern for a force out rather that throwing to first base. I'm glad the third baseman is making the easier play, like he should. The Default camera views are no better than OOTP24. I can't use the dynamic camera and the zooming camera. They are still herky jerky and just do not follow the action smoothly. I just created a few simple cameras that worked well for me. I like to get as close to the infielders as possible and see the outfielders and watch the ball all the way without losing it. It works well except for high fly balls. I played out all of my Pro Cup Series, my World Series, in the one-pitch mode. I wanted to check out the 3D animation completely. I created couple of camera views where I could see all players in the field... one pitch camera and one action camera. The players were a good size... and I could see the entire play except for home runs... The ball would go out of sight and disappear until it came down over the fence.. I would just switch views on the replay mode and choose a wide view so I could see the ball in flight the entire way. The only ball I could not see were foul flies around home plate and from first to third base. When I lost the ball on the action camera, I just used the replay mode and switched to a wider view camera. I thoroughly enjoyed my Pro Cup Series in 3D animation. Even the old style jerseys looked pretty good as long as I did not zoom in on them. I wish the OOTP animators would create some simple default camera views that would smoothly show the game. I just don't understand why the default camera views are so poor. Give us a set of default views that are simple, up close and personal. You can also include a fancy, dancy, complex and zoomy set of default cameras, too. I just won't use them if they don't smoothly show the action. Eugene, one of the coolest things I think they added was the fact that some throws are off line to the base. On a close play at the plate your runner looks like he could be out, but the throw is off line.

I just think the animation is smoother with no major glitches. I'm pretty happy with it when I use my very simple custom views. I wish the game-created default camera views were good enough to use. So far, I just can't use them. Too herky-jerky, quirky and zoomey. |
