Many thanks, I have really enjoyed working on it.

This is outstanding. Thank you very much for creating it. A couple of thoughts if you don't mind. As someone who grew up in the 1970s reading the NHL summaries in The Hockey News every week I would love to see a much closer cropped version if at all possible.

Not sure of the limitations of the html output but if a lot of the open space lines could be removed between goals and penalties, I think it would display a lot better on a single page without the need for scrolling. I made a crude example using my rudimentary paintshop skills below.

As a second option if the first is not doable what about something like the Hockey Reference.com layout?

Don't get wrong. This is outstanding and I look forward to future additions. It just feels like a lot of the space used in a box score could be tightened up to make it look a little sharper.

Thank you again.

Your sample box score looks awesome, and gave me an idea to create an option in the config file to choose the box score output style. It will probably look something like this,

output_style=0

;0=classic (compact/newspaper style)
;1=standard (double spaced, support for league/team logos)
;2=Hockey Reference style

The Hockey Reference style also has the team win-loss record, which is on my to-do list as I want to do league standings in next the version.

I will make classic mode look exactly like your sample box score

I'm getting a "The database for this league is too large!" as soon as I click "Run script".

EDIT: I'm getting the same issue now with V0.3. So that's odd. It was working find just over the weekend.

What is the file size of your boxscore_skater_summary.csv file? I set a cap size of 15Mb just for testing purposes. Sounds like your database size has increased past that threshold (the cap size can be increased if need be).

21.0 mb. It's a custom online league with 24 pro and minor league teams. But also has some juniors in it.

you will have to edit a line in the CSV_to_HTML_Box_Score_Converter.ahk file

look for the line,

dbCAP:= 15000

(should be line 87 in the file) change it to,

dbCAP:= 30000

(30.0 mb) should work now.

Your work is unbelievable. Great work great job.

For what you ask i dont have any result or schedule page. I only use an old program like your to put the results.

I took a lot of idea from those 2 website about what im looking for what i want for rosters-stats-results-records-standings etc.....

Here are the result / schedule page i want to have:

https://www.eshl.ca/TodayGames.php

If you click on final you have the boxscores/results

I have another boxscores if you can do it to propose where you can see the stats of the payers in the game

https://beta.flexhl.com/game/1060

Like i said its only idea of what i want in my dream website :P But i cant do it because i dont understand how work a DB and everything so i do what i know in html but thats it.

Keep up the good work and many thanks again for everything you do for us and the community of FHM.

CSV to Character Display Converter is a hardware project I have been working on that integrates with CSV to HTML Box Score Converter. It extracts data from the .csv files built by the converter (ver. 0.6b) along with other available FHM .csv files and converts it into animated box scores, schedules, standings and leader boards for display on a POS style VFD (vacuum fluorescent display) or LCD, which offer visuals like scrolling 'ticker' text and progress bar animations. It will have a various hot keys that will allow you select and navigate what report you wish to see displayed at any given time.

By fine tuning the HTML code and the design layout, I was able to make the 'classic' box score style even more compact and newspaper like. In this particular box score report, I was able to shave off 562 pixels vertically (33% shorter). I will still keep the original 'classic' style in the converter along with this new variant (with team record box) for version 0.5b.

version 0.5b will have standings (overall, conference, division), and introduce some leaderboards as well. Below is another 'classic' style box score I will include (wide layout, and over 50% shorter than the original 'classic' style from version 0.4b).

You will now have (4) different box score styles to choose from in config.txt,

; box score output style

; 0=classic Mk.I (compact/newspaper style)
; 1=classic Mk.II (highly compact/newspaper style, 33% shorter than Mk.I)
; 2=classic Mk.III (wide, highly compact/newspaper style, over 50% shorter than Mk.I)
; 3=standard (double spaced, support for league/team logos)

A suggestion if possible to speed things up a bit. Would it be possible to convert just one team's boxscores to HTML?

Of course, that probably won't help or be possible once you start adding more HTML outputs, like standings and stats. idk, just a thought.

I will implement an option for that in the config.txt file for version 0.5,

; single_team_output
; 0=off (default)
; 1=on

single_team_output=1

; teamID
; (0, 1, 2 ...etc.)

teamID=4

The converter's code is due for some optimization as well, which will definitely help.

If you have a sample large database I could test/benchmark (mine are typically small, with a few teams), that would be helpful for me to pinpoint any bottlenecks and improve overall performance. Would just need the following CSVs only,

league_data.csv
player_master.csv
team_data.csv
schedules.csv
player_skater_stats_rs.csv
boxscore_summary.csv
boxscore_skater_summary.csv
boxscore_goalie_summary.csv
boxscore_period_scoring_summary.csv
boxscore_period_penalties_summary.csv
