Whoops! Spoke too soon [as usual].

This time I DID get the ltrans page to have links but I'm still getting the 3021 error. Anything else my pea brain can look for?

No, I didn't know Joe updated the Exporter. You'll need to use the old version for now.

Lee, send me your data files and the 3 HTMLs and I'll take a look to see what is happening.

I'd like to see this too. Leave the awards at top, but player history at the bottom would be nice. (IMO)

Are there any programming whizzes out there that can make a utility that parses the pages that were converted from OOTP4 to OOTP5 and converts them into OOTP5/Cato5 format?

Lots of online leagues converted and have many previous years in non-linked format.

Yeah... that's what I meant. The awards/all star/hall of fame stuff should be left at the top, where it always was, but the player history from OOTP at the bottom.

Why not just use the version 4 database... and then when you convert to OOTP5, convert to the version 5 Cato database? You won't have some of the info (such as schedule splits), but you still get most of it.

I'm also getting the error. Does every single player on the transaction page have to have a hyperlink? Some contract extension players don't have links on my html transaction page, but other players do.

Thanks!

No, every player doesn't need a link, just the allstars and the award winners.

I finally got it to work. If you hit the folder button in the options screen to change directories for file locations, the program doesn't seem to remember the location. One of our owners who got the program to work mentioned that I should make each change in the options one at a time to make sure that they were being saved, and I noticed this problem. When I entered the locations manually, it worked fine.

Thanks.

Using the latest version of OOTP History I am getting an "error 94 Invalid use of null" during the generation of a team html page - I believe it is the schedule splits team page.

Background:
I have carefully imported 8 seasons following the instructions in the readme and using the correct CommishJoe programs for the games CSV output. I am attempting to generate all 8 seasons html pages now and the html page generation works well until this error. When the error occurs all the winshares have been calulated, all the player pages have been output, and more than half of the team pages have been generated as well.

The error occurs on the 7th season for a club and the other seasons html for the same club generated perfectly so I know the problem is not that serious, just an issue (expected value is null) with the current year. I have looked in the table with all the year by year game results since that is likely where the team splits html comes from, but's it's difficult to see any problem with that table.

Jeff, any idea of what might be happening here? I can go into further details too if I have missed some stuff, any idea's (from anybody) would be very welcome.

I solved this problem and thought I should update this thread with the reply just in case a similar thing occurs to others and they do a forum search. The problem described above was that a team city name did not get imported for a particular season. The utility was fine with this until it needed to output the team pages from that year, it output part of the team page (the top line or two only) before the app errored out. No idea why the city name was not imported for that one season, it may very well have been a user error when I did team name and location changes. Anyway, if you do a careful check on each of the year by year team screens (via the utility) you can spot an obvious error like this one, and there's no need to get all fancy-like in your troubleshooting.

bumping this thread.

I cant even open my database (created in v4 from my last 7 seasons) in v5.3 or v5.0. I can open the database fine in v4.

It says it can't open it because it would create duplicates in the primary key or relationships.

Cato,

I have added new columns to the end of players.csv and league.csv as I've needed them. I do NOT change the order of any of the columns you are using. Anyway to get your utility to work no matter how many columns are in the CSV? I will only add new stuff to the end, so that would ensure your utility will always work with my exporter.

Thanks

I finally got the idea for a league start that I really wanted to keep an insane amount of detail and am now running 5.30. Everything is okay so far, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the work on this.

Everything went without a hitch last night, so that was good.

I am wondering though if it would be possible to have an option to remove the ratings from the player pages, a couple of reasons:

1. For those who play Talent Only or Reduced Ratings, it can be troublesome to see all the ratings exported by BOSI.

2. I don't really consider the ratings part of the player stats, and his history. Of course the ratings generate those, but there should be an option to hide them.
