Oaky, so maybe I overdid it betting $475 in week 1. But I have faith it will work out in the end.

Detroit @ Kansas City(-6.5) (KC $20) - I had a feeling this one might end up wonky. That's why I only bet $20. TOTAL: $980

Carolina @ Atlanta (-3.5) (CAR $5) -

Cincinnati(-2.5) @ Cleveland (CIN $10)

Jacksonville(-5.0) @ Indianapolis (JAX $50) -

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota (-6.0) (MIN $25) -

Tennessee@ New Orleans(-3.0) (TEN $10) -

San Francisco (-2.5) @ Pittsburgh(SF $20) -

Arizona @ Washington (-7.0) (ARI $10) -
they are legitimate yet.

Houston @ Baltimore (-10.0) (BAL $75) -

Green Bay @ Chicago(-1.0) (GB $10) -

Philadelphia(-3.5) @ New England (PHI $20) -

Miami @ LA Chargers(-3.0) (MIA $10) -

LA Rams @ Seattle(-5.0) (SEA $50) -

Dallas(-2.5) @ NY Giants (DAL $20) -

Buffalo(-1.0) @ NY Jets (BUF $100) -

4th and 25??????

I still can't wrap my mnd around that. Did Reid have an acid flashback and think this was the playoffs against the Packers (when he had to go for it) or something?

Also, KeDog**** Toney. I mean, seriously.

I then thought for sure when the 5-yard penalty was tacked on to make it 4th-and-25, he'd reconsider and punt... I just have no idea what was going thru the brain of one of the best coaches in the game...

It's not like the Lions were carving up the Chiefs defense. Detroit's offense only scored 14 points... I just don't get it.

That said, it's a great win for the Lions. They are an easy team to like... their coach, QB, lots of nice youngin's... and a fan base that deserves something to get excited about...

As for the Chiefs, it didn't help that they were shorthanded, but they basically gave this game away.
He had more confidence in his offense converting a 4th and 25 than he did in his defense getting a 3 and out. But IMO a 4th and 25 pretty much forces the issue. You have to punt there.

Cincinnati(-2.5) @ Cleveland (CIN $10) Cincy layed an egg as well Total: $965

Tampa Bay @ Minnesota (-6.0) (MIN $25) - Was kinda surprised by this one. Total: $995

Tennessee@ New Orleans(-3.0) (TEN $10) - The spread saved me on this one. Total: $1005.

San Francisco (-2.5) @ Pittsburgh(SF $20) - 49ers won going away. Total: $1025

Arizona @ Washington (-7.0) (ARI $10) - Arizona saved me with the spread again. Total: $1035

Reason why I expect nothing from the Chargers is because of their coaching.

On the sneak, the Chargers are one of the worst run organizations in sports.

I strongly disagree. They've done one of the most difficult things to do in sports in identifying back-to-back franchise quarterbacks and generally Tom Telesco has done a good job selecting elite players or getting elite value out of picks like Keenan Allen, Rashawn Slater, and Derwin James. They also made a smart move imo pivoting from one of the worst offensive coordinators in the league in Joe Lombardi to a good one in Kellen Moore. Not a lot of teams would have done that coming off a playoff season.

I'm not arguing that they're great, but they have enough positives in there in my NFL fandom that they'd sit firmly in the middle of the pack of NFL teams to me, let alone teams in all of sports. If you're giving them a negative for the narrative that Brandon Staley is overly aggressive in game situations, that's been one of the laziest narratives that has been parroted the past couple seasons in my opinion. If you're giving them a negative for ownership, that I can see but there are still enough teams to me that have incompetent ownership and a weaker track record of success in other important areas.

They never win anything significant & every home game sounds like they are on the road.

They need new ownership bad. They don't bottom out like the Cards or the Jets, but they are always hurting themselves. And their HC is one of the worse decision makers I've ever seen dawn a headset.

Why did he continually try to single cover Tyreek Hill?

It seems like there are a lot more poorly run organizations in Southern Cal than well run ones.

Didn't the G-men resign an o lineman for more $ than they did for Saquan?

Nice win for the Niners today. I felt Pittsburgh would’ve put up a harder fight to be honest.

They lose, forty to nothing. 40-0! A draw-dropping beginning of the season. The farce that is the New York Giants continues.

Wifey and I went to the Dolphins/Chargers game at Sofi. A really cool Father's Day gift from my daughters. And what a game! Just a few quick observations:

1. Sofi is quite the spectacle. The last NFL I game I attended was Dolphins/Raiders in 1983 (which, btw, was Dan Marino's first NFL game), so it's been a minute, and my frame of reference is is not exactly current. But a very impressive edifice!

2. I was of course aware that the Chargers don't enjoy much of a home field advantage, that the LA-area fans of pretty much every visiting team converge on Sofi when their team comes to town. Still, I was blown away by the massive presence of the Miami crowd. Especially the explosion when Miami scored their final TD (that put them ahead for good); which was only outdone by the tremendous roar as a result of the Dolphins' sack of Herbert to clinch the game.

3. Being a long-suffering (redundant?) Dolphins fan, I found it all really cool! A great game to break my unintentional 40-year hiaitus!

4. I'm not a Tua fan. I think he's a really great kid, but I'm just not sold. He seems to do fine when his very talented receivers are the primary target and they are open. But I'm not sure he's ever actually checked off; he throws into double and triple coverage regularly. True, he also makes plays. But his two turnovers against the Chargers were very costly. Without those, Miami probably cruises to 10 to 14 point win. So I stick by my prediction that he will be yet another in a long line of highly-touted QB's who are thought for a time to be a franchise's cornerstone, only to end up holding a clipboard a few years later. We shall see.

5. While the Chargers haven't had the best of luck with coaches (the last one was pretty much a dud, as I recall), rather than being an indication of a poorly run organization, yesterday's loss was just one of those things. It went down to the wire, Hebert made a key mistake (the intentional grounding that was a borderline call), and Miami's defense - which hadn't made many stands all day - surprised the Chargers by blitzing on the final drive. Too soon to say for sure, but the Chargers are decent, and Miami is probably the slightly better team.

I thought it was ridiculous they kept Jones out there so long. He was getting hammered & they are lucky he didn't get hurt.

Offenses as a whole across the league were anemic this weekend. I mentioned it to a friend yesterday. And later saw the Philly coach pointed it out as well. The lack of reps they are giving starters in preseason now I think has made them less sharp. I told my friend I'm not expecting the O to start hitting their strides until week 3 or 4. I pointe to Carolina w/a rookie QB, w/all new skill players & w/all new staff it was short sighted playing their key players so little in the preseason. Chemistry is almost, if not equally, as important as talent. This is the kind of offense you'd expect from an expansion franchise.

I understand the fear of losing someone before the season starts. You are going to have to endure a lot of 2nd guessing if a key starter gets a season ender in the 2nd quarter of a game 2 exhibition. But some teams didn't play their 1st teams @ all in August. I think there needs to be a balance.

I had to do a double take this morning - can't remember the last time the Raiders were alone in 1st place in their division. Should probably take a picture

As a Cowboys fan, that was a fun beatdown to watch. The offense looks as vulnerable as it did last year but that defense under Quinn is something to behold.
