Draft Pool Feature - 1905
The featured player for 1905 will be:
EDDIE COLLINS Not as strong a draft with the St Louis Cardinals and they could elect to draft a pitcher or have deadly 1-2 punch of Cobb and Collins. Collins hails from Millerton, NY and is a solid infielder. In real life he collected over 3000 hits and was around the game a long time. With the need for pitching for the Redbirds Collins could drop in the draft like Sherry Magee in 1903. Collins was just happy he would be playing pro ball and that he expected to be in the show right away. |

Draft Pool Feature - 1906
The featured players for 1906 will be:
WALTER JOHNSON The Brooklyn Superbas and Washington Senators have the top 2 picks and this is a draft with 2 stars. The Big Train is from Humboldt, KS but was raised in Orange County, California in an oil boom area. He is considered one of the most dominant pitchers ever and will start his career in 1907 most likely in either city, doubt he would fall to 3rd in the draft TRIS SPEAKER Depending on the pleasure, if Brooklyn is going the offensive route they will grab Speaker at the first pick. Speaker is from Hubbard, TX and is a pure hitter in the assembly cut of Ty Cobb. He would instantly be a top 5 hitter in the league and do for Brooklyn what Cobb did for St Louis. Will be interested to see where these 2 end up. |

Draft Pool Feature - 1907
The featured player for 1907 is
SHOELESS JOE JACKSON Hopefully his fortunes will be better this time around and he won't conform to gamblers and the such. Jackson from Pickens, SC is expected to either go to the St Louis Browns or Boston Doves. If he does not banned from the game he could go on to the Hall of Fame and be one of the best ever with his potential. Hard to believe that he would not go first in the draft but stranger things have happened. |

Recap - 1908 Season
PLAYOFFS
WORLD SERIES The Brooklyn Superbas swept the Boston Red Sox in the 1908 world Series in 4 games as they win their first title as both teams make their first World Series appearances. Barney Wolfe was acquired by Brooklyn from the Cincinnati Reds and won 26 game, which is more than he won in real life. Shoeless Joe Jackson did not sign with the Boston Doves as he went to college, which is funny because he was known not to read. STANDINGS American League 1. Boston Red Sox 90-64 2. Draft Pool Feature - 1908
The featured player for 1908 is
ZACK WHEAT This will be a tough draft as Shoeless Joe Jackson enters back in and could end up with either the St Louis Cardinals creating a deadly punch with Ty Cobb or 2nd to the team of infamy, the Chicago White Sox Wheat from Hamilton, MO would love to go to the hometown Redbirds but could also slip to the Browns. If there is a pitching run, Wheat could drop to 6th, but most expect Jackson and Wheat to go back to back. |
