They paid $4B for a 5% stake in the Wizards and Caps, that seems really high unless I am missing something. I guess technically there is a TV network and the stadium in the company too, but still that is a huge premium.

By the way the article is written the fund will pay around $200 million for a 5% stake.

It looks like the articles are getting updated to clarify that it was a $4B overall valuation for Monument Sports, not actually a $4B dollar deal like was getting reported yesterday. That makes way more sense. Paying a huge premium for a minority stake seemed odd. This seems like more of a financial investment since US sports ownership is a huge cash cow.
