Hoping this year I can finally get over there to see the new stadium. Feel old saying that, as I actually lived in Arlington when the Ballpark in Arlington opened.

Opening day not just for MLB, but also the Japanese major leagues. The International and Pacific Coast Leagues open tomorrow, and the KBO and CPBL open Saturday.

That was so amazing.

I'm also a soccer fan and watched the Women's World Cup qualifiers that FIFA streamed last month, and they offered multiple viewing options, including one with match sounds only, no announcers, and it was such an amazing experience to enjoy the games that way.

I really wish more sports leagues/teams would offer that option. I mean, with streaming being so prevalent nowadays, it should be a simple thing to do. And if the only reason it isn't offered more is because of advertisers, etc., that's just sad and frustrating. (We're still seeing all of the ads that are visual during broadcasts.)

I'm watching the Phils and unfortunately again this season, we have John Kruk as the color commentator. I've already turned down the sound. Last
year in one game, he spent two innings talking about finding a car with a moon roof for a friend.

Yikes about John Kruk. I don't have any opinions about him myself. I'm sure I've heard him call games at some point, but I don't remember any details.

Announcers in general annoy me. I generally want them to just be quiet, but I don't want to mute it and also not hear the sounds of the game, such as crowd noise.

Sad thing is, as a player for so long, there are rare times when he will actually talk about the game and lends some good knowledge to the listeners. But most of the time, he tries to be a comedian, which I guess many of the clueless fan's love.

Yeah, too often, announcers try to take the focus off of the game and put it on themselves. They try to be "entertaining." With that said, I think that many times it's their bosses telling them to perform in that style.

Watching the game, and frankly don't know that much about your team, but you guys need a right fielder. Phillies had back-to-back triples that were hit to right field, and it's apparent, that they realize Grossman has an arm like me, and I'm 67. And another double that was in shallow right field, albeit in foul territory after the ball rolled over the first base bag, and when he threw to second, it bounced twice. lol. They're running on him like crazy.

Your blessing worked!!! Thank you.

Associated Press reports after all the openers have been played/

Baseball season has opened and the new season is already setting records. But they have little to do with the new rules. The games were a bit shorter due to the pitch clock, there were two line drive hits to RF that would have been outs except for the new shift rules, and the stolen base percentage was dead normal at 70%.

But for the first time ever in history, after their openers, 29 teams have a 1-0 record. Only the Cards lost. Commission Rob Manfred took the credit. "Its part of my plan to keep teams in contention longer" said the Commissioner. "What better way to do that than let most of them win their first game?"

OOTP spokesman Heinreich Tungensheek said "We don't intend to duplicate this feature in our game. This is not random."

However fans of 29 franchises were ecstatic over their teams starting the season with a victory. Even Cards fans weren't terribly upset. "We're only one game out" said Reggie Redbird. "That's easy to make up."

It's any ones guess at this time how many of the 1-0 teams will be able to extend their winning streaks.

I do the same. Problem is that I sometimes forget to look at my pitch count. Living in Buffao which is about 450 miles from NYC, we are in the Mets and Yanks market.
