No, it dragged on forever and ever. After Nyck de Vries crashed out after 10 laps or so, literally nothing happened anymore.

Well except for right at the end, when Ocon made his mandatory pit stop on lap 50/51, but somebody had already released the photographers for the podium picture taking into a still active pit lane.

Yeah, sorry- it was a really bad joke. Never overestimate me- that doesn’t even make the leaderboard for my worst… heck, it doesn’t even make it to the weekend.

Imola cancelled due to torrential rains / flooding.

Sigh.

Lando 3rd in qualifying.

Well, it sure helped that one each of the red and black cars struggled with the tires and one of the blue cars with the yellow nose ended Q2 in the kitty litter, none of those even making it to Q3.

Bright sides from the Canadian GP for this Lando fan: thanks to Sargeant's car expiring in the opening laps and the stupendous penalty dropping Bad Boy Norris only down to 13th place, he's no longer the driver with most finishes of 17th or worse this season; he can now tie in that category with Sargeant - yaaay.

No, there's no point in talking about who wins races. Dutch Max parades through the championship effortlessly and is 69 points clear of the rabble - which experts agree is the perfect lead to have.

Lando qualifies fourth for the proper race and third for the ****** fake race.

Can't wait to see how this turns into zero points.

Also, as long as I'm not mentioning anything about who's in first, you can safely expect it to be #1/33.

I'll merrily take a tenner after yesterday's disaster.

But boy, did I root against Dutch Max when he insisted on getting reds at the end to take the fastest lap. Because Perez had it, and WE CAN'T HAVE THAT.

Other lowlights? Karen Hamilton getting a track limit penalty by lap 13 and then whining constantly on the radio for another 58 laps.

I can't fault a guy for not wanting to leave a point on the table.

Yeah, but if the pit stop goes awry, he's losing seven points. Or more. Not my style. I'm a coward.

There were even more time penalties doled out after the race following a protest by Aston Martin. Sainz, Hamilton, and Gasly have all been given penalties and dropped spots: Sainz two, the other two one each. Sainz loses four points, Hamilton two, and Gasly one.

Lando up to 4th!

I love that track, but the situation in turns 9 + 10 is a **** show. Apparently there were over 100 violations in today's race alone.

Fun fact: Oscar Piastri and Valtteri Bottas are tied for 14th with 5 points.

...except that they are not, because ties are mercilessly broken by best position, then second-best position, then third- and so on...

The real fun fact is: Piastri and Bottas have their tie broken by their SEVENTH-best position

Piastri: 8th, 10th, 11th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 16th, 19th, DNF
Bottas: 8th, 10th, 11th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 18th, 18th, 19th

Another pole for the Dutchinator, Perez gets stuck again in Q1 (!!!!), but behind them are two orange (sorta) cars. Outside pole for Lando, and third place for Ossie.

Looks like the update works. Turns out all you have to do is to remove the fridge and whirlpool from the sidepods and dump the trailer with two tons of rocks, and the damn car actually goes pretty fast...!

Rule of thumb: if Lando squeals, I squeal too!

If you discount demigodly Dutch Max, he even won the race, counting only human drivers!

Yes, I cussed and cursed when they put him on whites during the safety car. I was ready to get angry on the Internet!

Eight in a row now for Dutch Max.

Everybody's rooting for a blown engine by now.

Unfortunately for my rooting interests, Lando chucked his car's floor apart offroading in Q1 on Friday and suffered the rest of the weekend, while Ossie got his first phony podium in the phony race on Saturday, then got crunched into the inside wall by a slightly delusional Ferrari in the first corner today and didn't make it past Pouhon with terminal damage. At least Lando rallied to a sixer, giving him a perfect 69 points by the summer break.

I'm rooting for Max to win out. Dude finally has the fastest car on the grid this year, I'm enjoying watching him embarrass everyone. Like, you had to know this was going to happen after he spent 8 years or whatever humiliating all of his teammates and winning 3 races a year in a crapbox. I mean, it would be fun to have McLaren or somebody join the Mercedes 2021/Ferrari 2022 "fastest car on the grid that loses to Max anyway" party but I'm good with this year so far.

Besides RB dominance, this season has reinvigorated Fernando's reputation. Never realized how cerebral yet funny he is. The radio transmissions have broken up some of the monotony of watching a race that is almost predetermined

I liked Nando when he was at Minardi, rooted against him at Renault, kinda didn't care about him after that other than his WEC and Indy stints, but it's hard not to be happy seeing him competing at the front of the midfield. And it seems like he's matured quite a bit in regards to his relationships with the team and his teammate.
