Our League - Season 5

Well, when we finally launch PT in v.23 I will have a team called Canby Boxers - OL (instead of Canby Boxers - PBE) under user name fan3 and will cheerfully comply with the league rules for this team. It was pretty much FTP during the past year anyway, so I won't have to change my habits much. Sounds like fun!

It seems that Our League is attracting new folks for PT 23. With that in mind, I'll post copies of the guidelines that were used, though I'm guessing some of them may change. Also, for newcomers, the list of "awards" for OL evolved over time to include a crown winner for each season at each level,a badge/plaque for OL teams that won a PT series, a replica of the MLB series trophy for those times that two OL teams met in a PT series, a Joe McCarthy Plaque for the OL team with the highest winning percentage each week/season (McCarthy being the manager with the highest lifetime pct.), the Wooden Spoons trophy for the team with the lowest winning pct. Also, in each league with enough teams for a crown, there was an MVP trophy (the Kauff Award) and the Denton True (the Cy Young Award, renamed for his given name because he was eligible, and, in fact won a few times). Those award winners were generally picked by the person who did the standings, though oftentimes opinions were requested. Finally, for each PT version (starting with 19), the Founders Cup was awarded. I'll post examples following this.
One caveat, however, since I have no plans to play PT, someone else will need to take over the graphic duties, if there is a desire for OL members to continue them. I have kept a copy of nearly every award and team logo and would be happy to share them with anyone who wants them. Just e-mail me at kidheckett@gmail.com, the address I have used for OL items.

Good luck with season five. I'm sure I'll be checking in the forum to see how it's going.

No intention or thought at all, just the first one I came to in the folder. To be honest, I didn't even read to see which teams were there. If I had, my teams would have been represented. The Arkham Horror crown wasn't even from PT 22. Let's go Rangers!

I've decided to return to one of my PT20 franchises for '23, the Mount Hawke Tinners. I'll let you know when they're live.

I'd love to say I could fully take over all the stuff that Stanley has been doing with the award graphics, but I doubt I'll be able to be that reliable!

Maybe, if I sort out templates for the awards in Gimp (free), I could share them with some of you guys? I'll try to get stuff sussed out over the next couple of weeks.

What are people's thoughts on the awards? Personally, I like them all, but probably less so if I'm doing the graphics . For me, the crowns and PT/OL series awards are absolutely essential, whereas the others are less so.

The West Burlington, Gear Terrace, and South Holland franchises are once again on the move. McGroup CEO, Fred Farklemarkle, made the announcement to a mostly-disinterested school of fish he was feeding off his local pier. As in past years, one of the franchises will be U.S.-based, while the other two will be in areas not traditionally associated with MLB.

Team user ID's remain the same -- RevMcGator, ZiphBarrett, and McGator. Team names and mascots will be revealed as soon as PT23 is officially released. Asked if the name and mascot reveal will be as much of a bait-and-switch as PT23 and PTGo have been, Farklemarkle declined to comment, other than to say, "The catfish have been extremely aggressive this morning." The catfish had no comment.

How do you guys feel about having a generic gold crown for all levels (1 pic per team), or are different crowns for each level important to you?
