Note that the runs allowed really didn't vary that much over the three weeks but the week of cheese added to the run production significantly. My pythag was over 90 wins in the final week so the difference was less dramatic than it seems but still... I only made the playoffs in the cheese week.

Guess what I will do next week.
There was a lot of cheese in the D353.

So I did lefty cheese in 2 of the last 5 seasons, 2047 and 2048.

I thought with the edition of guys like Maddux it would be worth trying balanced. It wasn't, at least for me.

For once, lefty cheese wasn't my problem. A final day ten game losing streak that took me from first to third was the problem . That said, it didn't seem too widely spread last season. The winner had a modicum of balance while the runner up looked like a proper team.. although the presence of Roger Connor and Ichiro is indicative of who was in it.

I would not recommend to not do lefty cheese as it can be a successful strategy. I just don't enjoy it. Lefty cheese parks are not really baseball..

Yeah, it clearly works, but I refuse to do it.

Ballparks shouldn't be allowed to be modified, period. Then if people want to lefty cheese it up, you just have to have a good balanced lineup to defeat it.

Someone should inform the Yankees, or any other number of teams...

They may not take it to the extreme that we do in a video game, but it's there.

Here is a helpful resource for real life park factors: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leade...2&sortDir=desc

For example, Yankee stadium has a 3 year rolling average of a 101 park factor for right handed homers (i.e. average). For lefties, that number is 112. So basically Yankee stadium is 11 percent easier to hit homers in, if you're left handed. The max park factor in the game is 10 percent.

Anyone recall the Yankee's strategy this year at the trade deadline? I'm sure it's just a coincidence that they picked up a number of left handed power bats...

Yes left handed power bats I understand. But a field that drastically reduces righty homers and singles while increasing lefty homers and singles does not exist. Yankee stadium is a lefty homer park.

Yes, but you can also decrease the opposite side by 10%, making the spread 20%. No MLB park has a spread anywhere close to 20%.

Also on Opening day in baseball you cannot change your whole ball park's factors to take advantage of who you play in your division's games that week.. This is in effect rebuilding the stadium. Nobody can do that. They build their team to fit the ballpark not the ballpark to fit the team. This is why I am a proponent of stadium cards. You have Fenway? Build a team for it. If you have Dodger Stadium build a team for that.

The ability to do this was removed. Now you have to set your ballpark before the first sim.

Another week of lefty cheese, another playoff appearance. However, no lefty cheese this week because my entire roster will turn over Thursday night and I want the flexibility to try out new cards.

Can you not change your PF on Opening Day up to the first game? I am pretty sure I have changed mine recently that way when I forgot to do it Sunday Night

Same here. Not sure what my team will look like Friday. I will actually try a neutral park for this week!

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant to change it for the first "week" of games, as in before the 10th sim. Yes, you can still change it on Monday morning after seeing the divisional alignment.

Real MLB GM's can do that too, because they know who is in their division next year during the offseason.

I would really like to have a few more choices at several positions, and a pair of starters better than Maddux/Rixey. I have a feeling that some of the cards that I want, maybe quite a few of them, won't drop until Christmas. If so, I might be gone by then. That's not a threat, just a comment. I am getting bored with the game due to the snail's pace of the content rollout.

I took a look at the stats for the guy who won my division by a mile and, interestingly, his final starters' stats were;

Maddux 24-1, 1.94
Rixey 10-11, 4.33
Grove 7-11, 4.04

Hmm...

The other (he was using a 4 man roster) was another leftie, Plank, but he had only played a few games.

From that, I read that one half of the cheese might be tastier than the other!

I am expecting Texas FH3 to be IROD! That will shake up the Catcher position.

I’m all primed up for Thursday. After slow starts to my last six weeks, I anticipate that I’ll get off to a hot first half and then have to completely rework my roster after Thursday night. It’s just the way that it goes.
