Yeah it's strange..but remember I had a weird thing with my 93 replay as well, where Jeremy Burnitz was not in the game, and I had to figure out some way to import him..(forget what I did now, maybe I imported him as historical player...)

So I'm a little unsure of the game I got at the outset...

And, for what's it worth, Castillo of Reds, did not show up for first start, 6/23, but DID show up in lineup for 6/28...

I've got his other starts penciled in to check, so when I get to them , will let you know...will also let you know about Tauchman for 7/1

Yes, that confused me too, I thought it said you had to start a new game for changes to take effect? I did DL the latest, though....

Did you or Kim send an updated file to Markus? I usually get cc'd when you do but I didn't see an email on that recently.

Gentlemen-

Any suggestion about what to do about the missing Dustin Fowler? Was unable to import him as historical player from 2017 or 2016...

I'm hesitant to move on with 2017 replay without him; not because he does much in 2017, but unsure if he will show up for 2018 where he does play significantly...

Advice appreciated- thanks

I just created a 2017 historical league with real lineups and transactions. Then I simmed the season. Butler made his starts. So did Tauchman. So did Castillo. But Dustin Fowler was missing.

I also simmed through the 2018 season. Dustin Fowler made all his starts. So, for whatever reason, the game does not import him for the 2017 season. I'll bet it's because he had no plate appearances in 2017, even though IRL he appeared in the starting lineup for one game (but never batted).

Here's something interesting. I started a league in 2016 and simmed through 2017. Dustin Fowler does, in fact, make his one start in 2017. So, he does import into the game when 2016 rolls over into 2017. And, again, Castillo, Tauchman, and Butler made all of their historical starts.

All this talking about Austin Fowler, how he got the start, but no AB in the 6/29/17 game, playing only one inning, and it just occurred to me.....

I was actually AT that Yankees -White Sox game !!

He started in RF, and made a long run towards the foul line for a fly ball, and smashed into the railing, hard...in fact , it was pretty much right in front of us, because our seats were down that line...

My nephew, whose bachelor party it was, spent most of the game, despite being a Yankee fan, yelling at Refsnyder, who subbed in, whom he strongly disliked for some reason...

There was a long rain delay, for which we went out on the walkways to stay dry and got to watch Sanchez and Judge hit the crap out of balls in an outside cage...Sox wound up winning...

Anyway, just thought it was funny that I didn't put 2 and 2 together..

OK, July 1 in the 2017 replay..

I check under "scores", which shows boxscores and starting pitchers of the games to be played that day...

On the Cubs game, the starting pitcher is listed as TBD, not Eddie Butler, though he is correctly placed in the lineup when you click "manage game"...so no problem, just strange...

Click "manage game" on the Rockies game, and the pregame lineup has an empty slot, Tauchman's slot...

Now, I have been manually putting in the players into the correct slot, when they aren't where they should be, but I imagine the AI has a decent shot of putting them in there too as it has to fill the slot- though, I have seen instances where this does NOT happen, and the wrong player gets the start. So, even though, after a sim, the players may be getting their starts, I think there still may be an error in the daily lineups...why else would the slot be empty before playing the game?

Still confused about whether or not game tries to keep pitchers from pitching in relief in the days before their starts...Many times, I have seen pitchers start games exhausted because they pitched a few innings the day before...so this is another thing I check before every game...wishing it were unnecessary...Is this not within logic of game?

I don't know why Tauchman would be missing from your lineup. I'm at a loss.

I don't know whether the AI avoids using a pitcher in relief when he is soon due to make a start. I thought so, but I don't know for sure. Perhaps someone else can give you a definitive answer.
