Good for you, it would have been terrible to have your long saves messed up.

EC, so glad that you were able to save your league. You always are so willing to help everyone else on the Forums and are so positive. I wanted to chime in with my 2 cents for advice to help. For my historical seasons, this is what I do. Typing step by step directions in case you'd like to save this list
Whenever I hit Opening Day, I:1. Go to League/Settings/Stats & AI....choose the season you'd like to import from the drop down menu. 2. Let it load. 3. Reset Hook for Starting Pitcher/Hook for Relief Pitcher on the left side to "default." 4. Change the BABIP to the correct number using Baseball Reference. For 1955, the correct number should be .302. **OOTP's number is always higher than the real number from what I have noticed. I saw a previous thread that explained this is why many times OOTP simulations run "hot" and have higher offensive numbers. By looking up the number, I have been much more satisfied with sim results. 5. Click Auto-Calc Modifiers (hook is recalculated to appropriate level). **I also always keep the button checked for "automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy** I do all of this on Opening Day each year. I have found that this helps keep the stats very realistic. Try a test of a backup league and let me know if this helps make your totals even more realistic! I stand corrected... OOTP is not corrupted and buggy... it is being programmed by an ignorant gamer... not Markus... the problem is yours truly, Eugene Church.

The new season is going very well statistically... batting average is down a bit... but it's fine.
In reality, the IPA is better-than-even... I will really enjoy this season. I'm at midseason... will recap the first half of the season soon. |

This is valuable information. The offensive stats in my simulations have always been high as well. For example, the leading home run hitter usually has between 60-70 home runs every season, sometimes more. Also, usually each team gets about 12-15 hits every game, and scores of most games are around 10-7. I'm looking for most games to be around 4-2 or 5-3, with a slugfest only once in a while, and a few more games that are around 3-1. That would be more realistic. I'll try the advice in this thread and see if that tones it down.
Also, I would like my starting pitchers to go 7-8 innings more often. I've also noticed that closers seem to come in the 8th inning and pitch two innings, when they should only pitch the 9th. Last edited by jg2977; 06-07-2021 at 12:37 PM. |
