How do you guys do it? I mean find players with certain attributes. You're grabbing players like the old days of cars when every feature was a stand alone option. You pick out a good fielding 2B with good OBP no power who hits lefty but not hitting lefty pitchers is OK because you're going to find a good filed MI bench player how hits R and is overall poor but kills LHP. I mean this is like the old cars pick and choose where you can pick tilt but no telescope, power locks but crank windows, 8 track but no FM, and have to decide if you want rear heat, rear heat and AC or just a rear defogger (would that be electric grid in the window or just fan forced air?). I mean how do you do this stuff?
I play historical with 16 to 28 teams and I don't see these kinds of choices out there. Are you custom ordering guys from the ballplayer factory? Last edited by Brad K; 05-23-2021 at 08:53 PM. |

Really?
Do you know how much roster churn there is IRL in today's game? For rebuilding teams, it's not at all unusual for the last 15 spots on the 40-man roster to get turned over 2-3 times in a single season. The Seattle Mariners used well over 40 pitchers alone in 2017. At August 25, 2019 (just read it online) the 30 MLB teams had averaged using 26.4 pitchers each with the September roster expansion, and more injuries, still ahead. Hell, the LA Dodgers have been the (consistently) best team in baseball for 8 years and even they 'churn' the last 10 spots on their 40-man roster more than an expansion team used to back in the day. I have no idea what time frame the OP has in mind but it is clear that Colorado's roster is going to need some serious rehabilitation moving forward. Who knows how long it will take him - the joy is in the journey. But it's good he has a plan about what he's looking for and, I'm sure, will use free agency, waiver claims, major league trades, minor league signings and trades, the draft and International free agents to try and accomplish his goals. Nothing unusual about any of it. |
