UPDATE

I can open/run in administrator mode and have no problems

This is very strange. When I begin a new game, I like to sim until after the playoffs and look at the historical stats to make sure I like what I changed the modifiers too. It stops after the playoffs, I view the stats, then I alt-ctrl-delete. Since the new patch, I can't do that. Sim until after playoffs keeps going into 2022. but, even then, I can't see the 2021 season stats under historical accuracy

I saw the update to v.39 tonight and only have one league that I moved over from OOTP21. What I THOUGHT I would do is do the update and since this update promises ratings adjustments, I figure I would just start a brand new historical league and play that out to see how I like the changes.

What I got was perfectly normal updated new version that reads v.39, BUT it starts installing the game and quits loading under PLEASE WAIT, ASSIGNING LOGO's AND PICTURES. Then under that it reads 100% complete logo's and I then have to Cntrl/Alt/Delete to quit out of the setup. After X3 times now I'm pretty convinced its a problem in the installer files because its the exact same place (logo's) that the game stops working.

NOTE*** In regards to above I left the computer at the above stuck spot and came back after an hour doing some chores... The game was no longer stuck and allowed me to start my new league... So problem seems to be a long delay in install of new files. Hope it helps!

Sorry about the errors but they are almost certainly not patch related.

All of these errors are write-permission issue related. So it seems something is keeping OOTP from writing to disk properly. To actually get this sorted out the quickest possible, I would recommend you fill out a support ticket and the support guys will work with you directly on it. You can send an email to support@ootpdevelopments.com or submit a ticket here

EDIT: I see your last post now. So yeah, running the game in admin mode to ensure proper write access is a pretty important step if you even have errors like this. Glad you got it sorted out!

don't use a windows directory like "program files" ... weird security things arise at times.

next time install to a "C:\Applications" directory -- might help. you'll want to manually move any saved games, if you do this. and, if steam? meh to steam and that witchery!

Not sure if fixed, but after autocalculating on previous version, the "Stats and AI" settings on the left (the drop-down boxes, not LTM stuff) would change after that process completed. Think they changed after the process completed, as the resulting stats seemed to be normal enough (while reverting them before moving forward with games, of course).

Yeah, I've seen a couple other reports on this as well. We'll look into it.
