You do know about this site, don't you?

http://muench.oneworldhost.com/bb_chrono.htm

It has also organized some of MLB's historical information, though it doesn't include some of the items you are (i.e. coaching changes, minor league affiliates).

Maybe you two should work together to make the ultimate resource site.

By the way, if you have ANY schedule related questions (i.e. length, opening and closing dates, stadium switches during a season, instances of alternate stadium usage during a season, World Series scheduling, etc.), please feel free to ask me.

I'm pretty much the resident MLB schedule expert.

No, it explains my carpal tunnel syndrome wrists from excessive mouse usage and schedule typing.

By the way, The Professor, could you explain in a bit more detail what exactly you have access to? There are two seasons in particular whose schedules have been somewhat problematic for me to determine with 100% accuracy, so if your sources have schedule info you could finally help me get to that 100% accurate level I crave so much.

Darned perfectionism - 99% accuracy just isn't enough for me...

No, I have never seen that site. If I see it correctly, they only have up until 1910, which is basically where I am at now. I may contact them to see if they have any more work done.

From a scheduling standpoint, I'm not too concerned with teams playing multiple games at different stadiums. I would say that 99% of the OOTP public isn't going to want to change the stadium for each seperate game. I basically want to have the stadium in which they played the most games listed for each year.

What I really plan on doing with this whole project, is tweaking a large set of park.dat files for easy access to the stadiums. Further down the line, I'd like to put some stadium pics with those park files. But that is a whole 'nother can of worms.

One thing about the boston teams you have:

Before they became the Red Sox and Braves (or Bees? I'm not sure for the NL team when the change occurred), the Boston teams didn't have any official names - they were called the Boston Americans and the Boston Nationals most commonly to distinguish between the AL and NL. Other names such as "Pilgrims" were used from time to time in the press but not nearly as often as "Americans"

Slant - I wasn't aware of that. I'm pretty much using whatever http://www.baseball-reference.com tells me from year to year. Thanks for the info, though. I'll take a look into it.

Probably true, but if you're trying to make a thorough and complete reference (there's that perfectionist thing of mine again), then you should include notations of the in-season stadium changes. It can then be left up to the end user as to whether they want to mimic those changes or not.

Oh, and like ZouDave said, the site mentioned previously has tabs along the bottom to navigate to different decades.

Click on the tabs along the bottom of the pages for other years. I have the information for every year right up to and including 2003.

http://muench.oneworldhost.com/bb_chrono.htm

This project I started when OOTP2 came out. I continuously update this spreadsheet as new info becomes available.

Thanks to Le Grande Orange for all the schedule info, which was my most recent update.

I had intended adding more info, such as managers. I also intend on putting it into a much more user friendly format.

Being in the navy, and having a large family (5 kids, 1 grandkid), time is not always an asset I have plenty of. It's gotten as far as it is in the past 2 1/2 years. I'm sure in another 2 1/2 years, it will have a lot more info.

For some reason, Opera wasn't showing me the tabs at the bottom of the screen. I opened it with IE and saw the tabs and all I can say is WOW. You did an excellent job with this. Did you compile all of that information in Excel? If you did, I would be interested in obtaining the files from you if it is possible. It is pretty well pointless for me to continue in making these worksheets with the existance of Bruce's site. I am, however, willing to help you as much as possible with the website. Let me know if you'd like any assistance.

Josh - Drop me an Email when you get a chance, we can discuss a few things and I'll give you an idea of my plans (big picture) for the web site. Maybe we can do some work together on it.
