Wow... I don't envy the guys that build these ballparks AT ALL.
I had to compromise a lot to get fields for my 10 teams... 1) Only 3 of the 10 parks had ever been created in 3D 2) I had to look for parks that were "similar" to my parks which meant going through and looking at pretty much every 3d park ever made 3) Many parks had the ballpark nameplate(s) hard-coded into the graphic design so changing textures wasn't a possibility 4) Even when I found a park, not all of the textures that should have been replaced COULD be replaced 5) And everything took a ton of time... In the end, I've got my 10 parks that will do for now, but I think I'm going to wait and see what the new ballpark creator looks like. If there's enough options, maybe I can use half of the parks created by our community wizards, and half created by the ballpark creator. 3D ballparks are a pain to create guys, and I kinda feel sorry for all those man-hours that went into it. As far as the APCL, everything is ready to go other than the ballpark issue. Waiting for OOPT22 so I can upload it and see if anything breaks.

Ok, time to give you a preview of the APCL Opening Day rosters. I'll start with the 2 expansion teams, Phoenix (top) and Salt Lake City (bottom). Note that the red dots are fictional players. There weren't enough historical players to go around adding the APCL to the MLB, but I hope to address that as the seasons progress and more historical players become available based on the MLB expansions.

Which database are you using? With historical minors I would think there'd be plenty of players
Glad you've sorted out the ballparks. Looking forward to this as a big historical PCL fan

When I put this together, I used the rosters published at Baseball Reference. On that list they put players in BOLD if they ever appeared in the MLB. I then manually imported each player and manually assigned them to the correct teams before i held my expansion draft. For some reason, OOTP (even with minor league database checked) would not load the players who never were in the MLB. I tried a couple different methods but none worked. However, when I thought about it, these players would, for the most part, be bench players anyway... So, in order to proceed, I filled in balance of the rosters with fictional players with the plan to replace them when I could get enough real players into the game. The only downside, I think, is some of these players may perform better than the minor leaguers I couldn't import - but I'll likely trade them out of the league for real players later. PS: If anyone has an idea how to get 1957-58 minor league players that never appeared in the MLB into the game, please let me know - I'm not against changing things.

OK!
I finally figured out how I can use all real players in my APCL - no fictional players. It isn't automatic but with about 8 hours time I can make this happen. Going to grab lunch, but I'll post the first team when I get back later - the Oakland Oaks (which are actually the relocated San Francisco Seals in my APCL. I feel better about this now ![]()

I thought I would add a diagram of the APCL team layout since it differs from the historical reorganization (Figure 1).
I erased the previous player lists, thought copies of the team home pages would be more useful (see below in new post).

If you are still looking for Portland's 1950's stadium, I'm pretty sure the PGE Park model in silvam's collection will work. Back then, it was known as Civic Stadium and is now called Providence Park where it is bein used for <shudder> soccer.

Are you going to import this into 22 or start fresh?
Me, I know I am using 21 as a sandbox right now to play around with some things

I'm going to import it into v22 and then check everything out and adjust as necessary.

Tempting the gods...
Projecting seasonal winners is a risky business. If your right, you get your 15 minutes of fame and a week later they forget your name. If your wrong, your reputation takes a hit and your the butt of jokes for eternity.
Ok, maybe it isn't that bad. Like Harry Doyle said in the movie, "Don't worry. No one is listening anyway." There's a lot of ways to project winners, and no one has a lock on how best to it (although running a full season of OOTP seems to work - but anyone can get it right if they run it first, right?). I tend to try and pick the top two contenders (because that's easier) and just for fun, the team that's likely to be at the bottom. Last point; All of this is based on rosters as they stand Opening Day. We all know that it's unlikely things stay static, and projecting trades is a fools errand, so here goes... North Division Vancouver Mounties or the Portland Beavers. My money is on the Mounties. Strong pitching staff and an almost solid 3 Star lineup should give them a significant advantage. Last Place; Spokane Indians (was LA). With no player rated over 2 1/2 Stars, and their relief staff the weakest in the league, I just don't see how anything else is possible. South Division Sacramento Solons or the Hollywood Stars, and I'm leaning toward the Solons (even though I'd love to see the Stars win it for managing to stay in LA). Sacramento is a powerhouse with 1B being the only weak spot in the lineup. The pitching staff is solid with Beamon, Ferrarese, Held, and Palica - and Joe Hatton at 41 years old holding the 5th spot. Last Place; Phoenix Firebirds (E). Phoenix has a similar problem as Spokane, but they at least have 3 players rated over 2 1/2 Stars. Who wins it all? (Deep breath) The Mounties.

I found monthly seems to be the sweet spot. I think you'll find even weekly will end up being a lot of work, particularly if you want to include detail in the work. A lot the great dynasty threads (Braeland, Delmarva) seem to update monthly, and that's what I would do when I had mine.
Regardless, it might be time to move on over to the Dynasty form if you're ready to play the games. They will move that sub-forum under 22 when it is released so you won't lose any work. Or you could ask a mod to move this thread, even. Either way, looking forward to finding out what happens!

When release happens, the other subforums for OOTP 22 will be there and ready to go. I can or any mod can move it for you then. Let me know.
