Do you play all your games, or just quick-play & see result?

If a team has a chance to win the Division I play 3 or 4 games during the season and then if it does I play the post season games.

Here's something back to the original topic of how things can be different with the settings I use. Clemente and Stargell kind of reversed their performances vs real life

Roberto Clemente WAR
Game 36.6 Real Life 94.8

Willie Stargell WAR
Game 81.2 Real Life 57.5

Do you use minor league teams in this save, or just reserve roster?

Dumb question, I see you do.

I still have a question, what happened to those players who were in one of you minor league teams, and from one season to an other that team was moved to an other MLB team as affiliate?

I don't understand the question. My teams farm teams haven't changed. I don't know if other teams farm teams changed. Why would they?

I'm guessing his question pertains to the use of historical minors.

I take out career enders in my games, but set injuries to Normal (OOTP Classic), which can still be quite brutal for injuries. Saberhagen's headed to the Hall for sure, but he's getting murdered by injuries in my latest RD game. Injuries force teams to use players they might not normally use, which can have interesting results. On a season by season basis, it can annihilate teams. I saw the Browns give up 1,297 runs one year, and over 1,000 the next because of them. Now they've made the playoffs four straight years, so hardships (plus sweet draft picks) build character I guess? The message to the AI is clear. Build up yer depth dammit!

One pitcher and one hitter from my OOTP16 63 season game. I can hear David Watts screaming about 19th century pitchers from here, but here they are. The numbers produced by the player in game come first, and his RL numbers are second.

And Bret Saberhagen's injury page from OOTP21. He'll be back midway through the upcoming 1918 season (coming off a Torn Labrum [shoulder] injury), which is his age 33 season. The list reads from the bottom up. As you can see from his Stats page, he's done just fine, and (for my money) is a future first ballot guy. I use five year double weighted recalc with Development turned ON.

In my new game just started Bob Friend had a career ender in 1951. Not that I have any chance of competing at this point!!!

52 came and he hasn't retired. Maybe the game is waiting for the invention of Tommy John surgery.

Bring him back to (baseball) life!!! I just take out all the CEIs in my injuries.txt file. Have to constantly remind myself to copy/paste when I download the latest version though. Don't mind long term injuries, but career enders annoy the hell out of me. I'm only a commish/historian in my RD games though. Perhaps I'd be way more annoyed by the long term ones, and the frequency (I use Normal [OOTP Classic] with High Position Player Fatigue as well as Strict Rotation Mode), but I just yank the CEIs, and I'm good to go.

My stats output/strategy settings are 1984 every year, with a 162 game schedule. I find the High Position Player Fatigue, combined with the Strict Rotation Mode keeps the PA, and IP for individual players/pitchers close to what they were in 1984. Not ideal of course, but I don't want the 19th and early 20th century beast pitchers to rack up 300+ innings per year.

270ish IP for the leader, and 240-250 IP for the #10 guy is the sweet spot for me, and I hit that more often than not. I only get a few hitters going over 700 PA, and the #10 guy is usually around 690, which also works for me. YMMV I s'pose.

Some short career player will have a long career to compensate.

Strangely Friend hung around for a year before retiring.

Also I play free agency from the start so there's a source of star players other than the farm system and trades. (I play historical rookies. The draft gives a human player too much of an advantage.)

I thought bumping visitor gate percentage might give small market teams a bigger budget but I haven't done any studies to see if it does. I did this for other small market teams not my own. I have a house rule that my payroll needs to be ranked at about league median. Not strict. Some years I'm a bit above and some years I'm below.
