Where does one find the free agents? It would be helpful if I could figure out how to open up the on-line manual while in the game.

I made a trade and it showed it was completed, got a message saying the trade was done and 12 days later the player hasn't shown up on my minor or major league rosters?

Every trade (3) I made did the same thing. I found the players on DFA list. What did I do wrong for that to happen. Previous trades the players went to a minor league team.

Click on the league name (MLB) and then click on Transactions. You will see a tab that says Free Agents. This is also the place you look to see who is on the Waiver Wire.

When you trade for a player with a MLB contract, they end up on the DFA list. You have to place them on the 40 man roster, so they cannot go right to the minor leagues. If you do not have room on your 40 man roster, you will need to make room by DFA or releasing a player to get the newly acquired player(s). If you get a player who is on a minor league contract, they should automatically go into your minor leagues.

And also the message panes that appear after an event. They, for example, explain where players go after trades.

Thanks guys. As for reading the manual is there a way to access it while in the game? Also how do you turn on the expansion draft. I'm playing the 98 Rays, the preseason is about to start and no signs of the expansion draft. I did read the manual on the expansion draft and it was as clear as mud. Should I have started the game in 1997 so the draft would kick in?

O.K. I figured that .
When you have a screen showing your players to the left of their position is a circle and if you click on it a dot appears inside the circle. What is that for? Thanks

DON'T TOUCH THOSE BUTTONS!!!

Touch too many and your monitor will go black. Power to it will be immediately cut off.

Then the power used for the monitor will be diverted to the hard drive. The extra power will cause it to spin out of control. Speeds of over 13,000 RPM have been observed on 7200 RPM hard drives.

After a time you will hear a light rattle from your computer although sometimes its just a vibration. This is because the huge centrifugal force caused by the over speeding hard drive has caused the OOTP files to detach from the hard drive and strike the inside of the case.

Do NOT turn off the computer because you've passed the point of no return. Let things run their course so you can effect a recovery.

After the rattle/vibration has stopped, obtain a miniature broom, dustpan, and bucket. (Barbie house accessories work well.) Open the computer and you will find the OOTP bits scattered on the bottom. Sweep them into the dustpan using the Barbie Broom (or equivalents) and put the bits in the miniature bucket.

Orient the computer so a USB port is oriented parallel to the direction of gravity with its opening facing away from gravitational force. Then pour the contents of the Barbie Bit Bucket into the USB port.

Reconnect the power (you DID unplug the computer before opening it, didn't you?) and start the computer. OOTP will re-install.

They are to select multiple players at a time.

Well, yea, that works for you!!! But OOTP takes a lot of computer power and you are one of the few people running a beyond state of the art Gallactictech MXTX Turbo Powerstroke Hemi Magnum 5000 computer that is needed to do this. The rest of us need a second computer to access the manual. Some people may even print a hard copy.

Those generate a lot of heat. Don't forget to change the coolant annually. A 50/50 mix of distilled water and Prestone is recommended due to its enhanced anti-boil properties and to provide corrosion resistance to the cooling system.

The OEM HEPA air filters are 300 hour replacement and are quite expensive. However its been discovered they have the same dimensions and performance as a 2014-2017 Nissan Altima cabin filter which costs a lot less, so you might want to try that instead.
