Not quite low

It may be following a trend of fewer IBBs
Hmm... guess I wasn't supposed to add up all the IBB in that chart above. So maybe they are just too spread out? Not enough IBB going to the top hitters and too many going to hitters that aren't typically given free passes?

No
It has each lineup position 1-9 then groupings 1-3, 4-6, 7-9. So, yeah, if you add them all up, you'll get twice as many.

I think its probabky fine, and just what Questdog said

#8 hitters are IBB'd at a much higher rate than middle of the order hitters.

I'd guess that most teams don't have a #8 hitter that gets 600+ PAs a season, but instead shuffle different hitters through that spot in the lineup so few single players can amass a league leading amount of IBB's. That's why there's multiple players in the top 10 even if they don't necessarily lead the league.

Nice work, problem solvers!

Well I question the distribution just because 13 IBB leading the majors doesn't seem realistic. Guys like Bellinger, Betts, Trout, etc all having less than 10 IBB on the year might be a little unrealistic.

It is true that the A.I. considers the situation more than the batter and will not walk Barry Bonds anywhere near what he was walked in real life. It rarely walks a batter who is better to get to a batter that is worse with 2 outs, except for the #8 hitter to get to the pitcher. It likes to set up double plays. So, it will not walk the heavy hitters as much as they are walked in real life and could use some fine tuning there, but it is not an easy task and the A.I. in game management will never be anywhere close to perfect and expecting it to be is unrealistic.
