It’s obviously an MLB-issued advertisement. OOTP uses the MLB licensing, and in turn I’m sure they promote what the MLB wants them to. We don’t have to love it but it’s not as if it’s a huge deal. And it’s obviously not a “hacked” situation. That’s a silly theory.

It's not a hack. It's pretty obvious that it's a marketing agreement or something otherwise written into a contract OOTP agreed to.

EDIT: Wrote this reply before I saw Habsfan18 said the same. He's 100 percent correct.

Hi everyone! It was certainly not a hack. We are partners with MLB and, especially this year, have expanded our co-marketing efforts. The Dream Brackets are a great example of that.

As far as in-game advertisements, the latest game update addresses the issue of expired/dismissed advertisements still showing; they shouldn't anymore.

Full transparency - it's my responsibility to run the the in-game advertising campaign.There is no more effective way to communicate with all our players in one place than in-game.

We are doing our best to balance everything with in-game news. You will get in-game news about new podcasts and important events like the Dream Bracket and sales of our other titles. Generally speaking, there is one in-game news item a week. Occasionally, like this week, there will be two.

Perfect Team in-game news is solely in that area - you have to access the Perfect Team mode to see those. We put 2-3 Perfect Team news items in each week.

Hopefully 1-2 OOTP 21 "proper" in-game news items per week is OK with you. It's our best way to reach all of our fans. Not everyone comes to the forums or Discord or Facebook or Instagram or YouTube or Twitch or Reddit.

no, it's only available on the PS4, though I think that may be changing next year.

The shows graphics and ball physics just can’t be beat. It’s a must have to have the beauty of the game brought to life.

Ads or popups when launching the game is super annoying. Can't think of any game off the top of my head that does it that way.

Having a separate click here line in the bottom of the start menu would be a much better idea. For ads or news events.

Or even real ads in the virtual stadiums. I mean we are all use to ads in real stadiums. So why not ads in ootpb stadiums.

But a pop up before the launch of the start screen? Its bad form. Again can't think of another game doing it. And there is a good reason for it. Having a section on the start screen for news/ads/events much preferred. Now that I've seen other games do.

It's not. I don't want to receive ads or "news" as you call them for a game that I paid for. You want to launch a free version? Different story.

I thought that’s what the emails were for. Although for a many times I’m clocking away playing this game, I can’t say 1 or 2 extra clicks really bothers me

Don't hold your breath.

Just read it today on the net. Next year The Show will be available on the xbox. No mention of a PC version.
