Getting to watch 3D-gameplay would be a dream come true but I think that it is way easier said than done. Ice hockey has an overwhelming amount of plays that can happen, baseball is much more linear.

If Football Manager can have it (and football also has big amount of plays), I don't see why same couldn't happen in FHM one day...

Eastside Hockey Manager already did it years ago with the dots. I'm sure that could be upgraded to sprites of dudes over time. Would be cool to have an NHL94 style visual representation. Even adding those sound effects would be nostalgic too. "OOOO".

Think we're bound to see visual upgrades of in-game hockey in FHM at some point, and I'm sure it's in the plans. Just don't know when.

I figured I would add my 2 cents here.

The biggest items on my wish list for FHM7 are:

1) Have some way of exporting box scores in either an html or text format

2)Create some utility that will export stats to html (I made my own that creates html files from the CSV import but It's not very good - I am not a programmer!)

3) Keep improving the trade AI

After starting save in europe, my biggest wish for FHM 7 is to arrange my pre-season games, because this is just pain in the a**. Four sorties of back to back games in pre-season ?! I can't play with my top players because they simply can't re-claim their fitness level after first B2B.

Please, please !!

I have a bunch of things I would love to see, which is going to make this sound too critical, so I'll put the good bit in bold up front:

This is easily the best hockey sim I've ever played. This is the first hockey sim I've played since Wayne Gretzky Hockey 2 where I made it more than about 20 hours in before quitting in frustration. I love this game! If I did not, I would not care about improving it.

So now the things I would like to see in FHM7:

Quote:
Improved tactical interaction, not guesswork
...
Improved usability - less fiddly clicking to make tactical and line changes etc, going back and forth between screens
Yup, both of these. Tactics: Every game I get told what the opponents general tactical settings are (offensive / defensive, physical yes / no) but not mine, and I can set mine in detail (with notes like "Weak against Funnel") but no indication where I might find out that the opponent is using "Funnel." I feel like there must be some tactical point to having a guy in a specific role (Defensive / crease clearing / old school defenseman) but am unclear what it is. And it feels like the system is not remembering my tactical instructions if I set them in the game screen instead of the practice one??

Fiddly bits: Have the checked boxes not refresh moving between roster screens (or let me open a second window). ie., I want to see only my centers (unchecks five boxes). Now let me see the lines. Now back to the roster, No, I only want to see the centers (unchecks five boxes). Now go to lines to set my top three centers. Now back to the roster before I choose my fourth liner. No, I only want to see the centers (unchecks five boxes) ... .

Better feedback about crucial steps ... like waiver day. You get a message that says your minor league players are going to need to clear waivers; not that it's the one day a year that the waiver wire is active. There's a message about the amateur draft age changing to 20, but nothing to indicate that means there will be no players available in the draft that year (and yes I did trade "up" for a draft pick that year ... but it was a really great trade).

Information on trades ... I keep hearing that I almost have a deal, just a little more. Then I add something and get the same message. My record is six improvements before I gave up. There are a couple of hints that work really well ("We're not giving up a high draft pick that cheap" and "We just got this guy so we're not letting him go right away"). More of this please!

I would like to see more options for general league setup. One of the best parts of OOTP is the ability to play any scenario. I would like to use any players (historical, current) in a custom league, for instance, or a mix of historical & fictional. I would like to build a relegation league (I really, really want to start with the 1917 NHL/PCHA setup and turn it into an NHL as the premier league with the PCHA as the relegated league, develop them over time and be able to build a "what if" scenario that way. I'm pretty sure I can figure out how in OOTP and not in FHM).

I would like the "Challenge" mode to kick in after I've had a chance to finish the league setup in detail. Let me build exactly the league / inaugural draft / amateur draft structure I want, then let me get fired if the "owner" chooses ... .

In any draft, there should be SOME information in the scouting screen. I have an NHL-level staff and all they can tell me is a guy is two stars and has potential to be three stars? Draft day is when I should be shaping my team (ie, a fast/skilled team vs. a grinder-heavy one). Can't do that if I have no idea who's who ... this is especially frustrating because the game already has the ideal system (scouting levels A through E) to be able to provide some but not perfect information.

I would like a better manual / tutorial. I'm about 60 hours played in, have ticked the spousal unit off because I'm ignoring her for a computer game, and I have still just started to figure basic systems out.

Fix the nervous tic in the pbp / highlights text where, if it repeats a line or two of text verbatim the team will always score.
Fix the nervous tic in the pbp / highlights text where, if it repeats a line or two of text verbatim the team will always score. Even if it takes another dozen lines of highlights to do so. That's at least as bad as the one I've seen mentioned where the penalty clock disappears before the highlights get to the goal.

To repeat:
This is easily the best hockey sim I've ever played. This is the first hockey sim I've played since Wayne Gretzky Hockey 2 where I made it more than about 20 hours in before quitting in frustration. I love this game! If I did not, I would not care about improving it.

Thanks!

I have a request for FHM 7: In historical I like to look playoff trees from past seasons but right now it is quite difficult since you have to go back to the "seasons" and select another season to see its tree (and standings and stuff like that). I think that you should be able to switch season while staying in the playoff tree -screen. I don't think that it would be that difficult to implement into the game either.

Canada Cup in historical mode. Shouldn't be too hard to do it, only six teams played (one time seven - West Germany), it would give new dimension to historical mode which is popular. Olympics and World's would be cool as well, but that is more complicated due to larger number of teams, but CC for now would be great.
it was always six teams West Germany replaced finland that year

This has probably been suggested before, but I'd like to see a 7-day lineup page like the one we have in OOTP, at least to be able to decide which Goalie you want playing each of the next few days. Also an option to rest a player for an X amount of days, again similar to OOTP. This would be very helpful for online leagues where multiple days are simulated at once.

Thanks!

Was wondering if it would be possible to add some more options to this part of FHM like more historical teams outside the NHL (national teams) or the possibility of creating custom teams to go against each other.

My biggest need on this series is complete control of all teams and the ability to throw everything into fantasy draft before starting a franchise or season. Really hope that makes it in.

I posted this suggestion on Reddit forum and one of the developers said that they could look into it! So I thought would mention it here to see what you guys think.
I am a big stats guy. Number one reason why I am so much into games like Football Manager and EHM. Lately finally decided to see what FHM is about ... and I am loving it! Started my challenge save with Canucks and having lots of fun.

So my idea is the following. I saw that there is one cool statistic missing from the game.

Keeping track of the number of hat tricks that a player gets through his career. And maybe also showing the date and game date of that hat-trick. Sorta like what hockey-refernce.com does,
example: https://www.hockey-reference.com/pla...ovechal01.html
I am always amazed seeing how many hatties Ovechkin amassed (28!) in his illustrious career. Hoping he will hit 30 one day. Anyway hopefully it is doable and we see it in FHM7.

PS: And Hello everyone! It is great to finally be part of this community

Upgrade the scheduling algorithm and allow player created schedules to be imported into the game.

I'd like in-game advanced stats which I think would really help you as a coach in the games. I'd like ES goalie stats such as SV%.

I'd like the historical player database to finally fix a few errors that haven't been addressed over the years. Example: Pat Lafontaine/Pierre Turgeon trade in '91 historical database is incomplete/broken. If you start a game in '91, Buffalo has both Turgeon and Lafontaine.

I don't think anyone has ever reported that. It's now been updated in our internal database. We can't fix what we don't know, so if there's something else, send me a PM or post in the Bug Forum.

I feel certain I raised it a few versions ago in the bug thread but perhaps I'm wrong. If it didn't get seen that's on me as I could've raised it again. Thanks!

the u18 is just for the kids who were passed over in the u17 the year before and had a late growth spurt and dominated major midget the following year. Usually not many from this make the OHL. Teams usually take most goalies in round 1. Barrie took Victor Hadfield in this draft a few years ago and he is one of their key players now and will be one of their three overagers next season and probably 2nd or 3rd line winger.

But not really needed in the game. Not sure if the Q or WHL have this draft also.
