O Ye of Little Faith...TAKE THAT

An eternal Mets pessimist, trained to expect pain and suffering be it big or small, I have to admit these guys are slowly coaxing me out of my old habits. On the verge of squandering opportunity in the sixth, the Mets rallied for a two-out rally through patience and one timely pop from Jake Marisnick en route to toppling Atlanta, widening our lead in the NL East to 5 1/2. Gotta keep the faith.

Lost Weekend

An slumbering offense managed just two runs over the final 18 innings in dropping the last two games of a weekend series in Atlanta. The lead in the NL East is down to 3 1/2.

Can't Cash In At Citizen Bank

Another bitter loss - the third in a row - marked by blown opportunities at the plate. Adding to the woe, trend of Mets getting plunked continues...and hands are tied in terms of retaliation.

Worst Loss of the Season

Up 10-2 in the middle of the fifth, the Mets somehow find a way to give it all back and then some as Phillies complete sweep of day/night doubleheader by taking a 14-12 victory on a Didi Gregorius walk-off, three-run homer in ninth.

Spiraling

Responsible for two of the microscopic 13 losses on the Astros' record through 60 games, the Mets absorbed a dose of payback and lost sole ownership of first place in the NL East for the first time since early April.

de-Grom-inant

Jacob deGrom resumed his accustomed form while the powerful punch of Yoenis Cespedes and Pete Alosno steered Mets past Nats for second straight win.

Revving Up?

An offensive explosion, coupled with the continued grit of Steven Matz, spurred the Mets to their third straight win over the Nationals in a four-game set.

Who Is This Guy?

Call it motivation, incentive...whatever you want but since we entertained the idea of moving Steven Matz, the lefty has countered with one quality outing after another. The latest chapter featured 7 1/3 innings of stifling work and, coupled with the offensive support of Brandon Nimmo, sparked the Mets past Washington.

Hammer Time

Noah Syndergaard set a definitive tone that feature some much-needed intimidation as the Mets took the rubber-game of a weekend series with the Nats.

You Win Some, You Lose Some

Foolish of me to get excited after sweeping Mariners. Reds bring Mets back down to reality with reminder of their fragility, taking 2 of 3, the second among the more painful losses of the season.
