It happened during the team stuff after all the players were done.

I tried an 8 team league and used ootphistory and it worked just fine.

What were the files that you want me to send?

Cato... you are simply The Man. Others who would under normal circumstances be considered The Man are mere children compared to you. Thank you for the great work you've done.

Steve/Scott: Respectfully request this be stickied, so it's that much easier to find. And maybe throw a few *s into the title. And a # or two. Yeah.

Do you mean during the HTML output? You can send me the CSV files created by the Export utility and the 3 HTML files, league.html, lnews.html, and ltrans.html. Just copy the HTML files into the 'data' folder, zip all the files and send it along.

Thanks again for all your hard work. When I get past the "Copying Master.csv" part I get an "application-defined or object-defined error." Any idea what that may be? I'm continuing from an old database (36 yrs). I unzipped the 5.0 program into my 4.0 program. When I run Joe's exporter 5, I end up with 15 .csv files in my data folder (is that right?). After I get the error, it continues running but thinks it is in the previous year still. I've tried this with the logo and photo import enabled and disabled. Any ideas?

edit: I tried a "fresh install" of the history program and I still get the error.

tcblcommish -

The reason it is crashing is because you have 2 playoff rounds with the same name. The second and third rounds are both called 'World Championship'. These must be unique because the program uses the names to search the league.html file to find the playoff results.

To fix it, open the league in OOTP5, goto league setup and edit the playoff round names. Then, redo the HTML output and run the exporter and try again. It should work!

Are you sure you are using version 5.0.0 (the version is in the titlebar)? The reason I ask is because it doesn't ever say 'Copying Master.csv'. At one point it says 'Copy...' on one line and 'Master Data' and the next, but that's as close as it gets. Older versions had 'Copying Master.csv', but not this one.

If you are sure you are using ver 5 and Exporter version 5, then I'll probably need your database and the data files your trying to import in order to figure it out. I imagine the database is pretty large, so if you don't have somewhere on the net that I can dowload it from, I can send you an email with instructions on how to upload it to my server.

Cato, I do have version 5. You are right though, it said "Master Data". I exported the park info and now it works fine. I didn't realize that was necessary. Thanks for all your hardwork.

Cato, great work as usual, but I'm having a problem. When I go to "Import Stats" the program says "File not Found", its the league.csv file that can't be found. Where do I create this csv from? Thanks again for all your hardwork.

League.csv is created when you run the teams.exe from Joe's exporter.

Great! I probably should've made it a little more clear that you need to run exporter.bat and park.bat. I added the park.bat line into the exporter.bat file so that I don't have to think about running both.

SkinnyD -

You need Exporter 5 and run exporter.bat and park.bat. Check out the readme on how to run those. Since I can't read the OOTP5 files directly, my program needs this other program to create the data files.

I have a question for you again, Mr. Cato...

For managers, do you still have to run the names like this?

Martinez, Victor

or should i do it normally?

Victor Martinez

You can do it either way. If you enter them "LastName, FirstName", the displayed name will be "FirstName LastName", but they will be sorted by LastName.

If you enter them "FirstName LastName", the displayed name will be "FirstName LastName", but they will sorted by FirstName.

I prefer "LastName, FirstName", but use whatever floats your boat. Just keep in mind that "LastName, FirstName" is not the same as "FirstName LastName". They will be treated like 2 different managers, so don't change style without redoing all years in the database.

OK, another problem. I go to "Import Stats" and it says "There is a problem importing line 2 in the file \teams.csv. Open this file in Notepad, uncheck Word Wrap (unde Edit). Examine the above line for odd characters, fix, and try again."
Now I've looked at it and can't find any "odd characters", but I may not know what I'm looking for. All the columns and data seems to look right. Any help?

SkinnyD,
Had the same problem, sounds like you don't have the 5.0 update, should be amongst the links on Jeff's page.

I've got Cato's 5.0.0 update. Is their an update from this? I've also got the CSV Exporter 5 that I downloaded from this site. What else do I need?
