But if that is the thing, What is the point of playing? Just plug and play? I need more stimulation then that.

Well, this could be the year the Saints go back to diamond. What a tough division!

Maybe part of it is that you've assembled a great team and there are not that many more upgrades to be had.....maybe PT 20 would be the answer as you build the Zorros from scratch with all the new cards and the tournaments.....just a thought anyway.

I know the GM's in this league love strategy, but with PT20 started how about a hitters park league with all 1.1 stadium hit settings?
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=301003 I set my Diamond team to 1.1000 hitting park and I am getting more reward points. Some hitters might challenge .400 or 70 homers?

Kushiel makes a good point....building a new team from scratch is what drives a lot of the fun in this game...slowly making incremental upgrades or finding new gems.
I have to admit that I have had lots of fun in the last few nights with the kids. While I was not watching, they made some really amazing purchases and build a pretty decent team. I have to admit that re-training new players and watching the team slowly come together is a big attractant. However, given that I think whales will eventually dominate Perfect league (with little effort) due to too many SP legend cards with excessive stats (120+ Stuff, 80+ Movement, 80+ control), I am not willing to go all in again. So we will leave our $$$ in our pockets and just have a single family team instead of 5-6 and may add some more low level teams at a later point. Sad that this was not addressed by Markus. I think it would be great if we could get another Orcin league together in 20 as there are new cards and new combinations to enjoy. |

The point for me playing is that my teams are all much better when I take individual time with that team like I have with the Yaks. Weeks that I have micro-managed we win over 100 games. Years I do not for various reasons they stumble.

No I do not intend to move on to 20. To many Dominet cards in 20 and I know me. I would work my team to death and then get all the Dominet cards I could and then it would just get boring. Just like 19 is starting to do now. Even a Orcin league will not work if there are Dominet cards. So that would get old soon. I am going to wait and see if the Dominant pitching cards will really be a problem like I think it will be. If not I will join and if so I saved myself a lot of time and money. I have been having fun with the regular game. I use to love and play this game. I had strategy. But now With Pedro and Schilling and Halladay the fun has left because they do not need to be micro managed all the time like the old Rocky Point team needed to be. I think now the only fun league would be a league with 3o players and each having one major league team to manage and get cards for. Like say Dog was the Giants and the only cards he could play with were Giants. Or Zorro was the Dodgers and the only cards he could gather would be Dodgers. Then it might work and be a fun competitive league...

I think you are right but the same thing would probably happen in 20. This game is meant for people who work and have to kind of plug and play. (Because they do not have the time)Then it would be exciting and challenging but if you do not have to work and get to do this full time there really is not much to it . I know people laughed when I said I had a advantage because I did not work but it was true. I could strategize for each series To make sure my team matched up to the opponent but now I do not even have to do that. Dominet pitching has made the Zorros a minor plug and play team. (I do micromanage some) so if 20 has even more Dominet cards then this game would just get boring for people who have the time and money to put into it. I am not saying this mode is bad for all. Far from it. I am just stating for me it is starting to get old is all.

Now back to the league I see the Base Thieves have recovered nicely from their 1-9 start. Good job..😁

Boy I have been quite fortunate and lucky to have built a lead over the Black Sox. We have basically the same starting pitchers in our rotation so I have been so lucky to be up by 6 at this point. It won’t hold but with their pitching staff they should not be behind any one at any time. When I saw that team I thought, Wow, I might have to play for a Wild Card spot only. I sure hope my luck holds out. 🤞

This League is loaded with Legendary teams. I just looked at the other Conference and cannot believe how many GREAT teams are here this season. There must be some very easy leagues out there because all the winners ( or most of them )are here. Lol. 😱

Here is my 1st place Iron team in 20. It has been fun and work to have them leading. Fun can be had in 20 my friends
I hope to see you there some day too.

Thank you my friend but I am having a hard enough time staying ahead of The Black Sox. Also to get me a little more interested I have made a few goals. One is to get to 10 Championships before 19 ends. (That could be hard) And the second goal is to get to the front page in wins. (That could be impossible being almost 90 games back.)That has boosted my interest. I might as well finish what I had started.

Yea, not the exact scan but in tribute to MLB players that pass this year I'm grabbing a card from my collection as I change my avatar to the recently departed. In this case I have the whole 1959 set. |
