I see it too and it is sometimes just OOTP forums: that is, I can switch to another tab and go to a different site instantly but can't go back to OOTP's front door. I used to check my wifi connection but never found a problem.

It's quite annoying.

maybe not related, but i had to change the DNS on my computer to get to Win-10 updates (gotta love Comcast ...). Switched it to Open Google or something like that - and since then, i've not had any issues with the website loading, and maybe it's just wishing, but loading times seem a bit quicker ... dunno. maybe it's just coincidence ... my tech skill are rather lacking, but i was sent a link on how to change the DNS and managed not to mess it up. That's worth some sort of celebration i think. as far as the website - just hope this new connection stay as magical as it's been the past week.

for the last 10 mins or so i've been experiencing what i typically see. 1:55- 2:02 EST?

had to log back in once to fix already. was stuck on a reload trying to log back in.

closing and re-opening fixes, but i lose anything i was typing, etc. copy/paste avoids any re-typing, though, when i remember to do so.

mitch:

1.1.1.1 ? imo, that's the best one to use. i get the best resutls with it compared to other options. (quantitative reasoning, not qualatative or feelings)

use that, don't use google's. latnecy will be ~10ms, likely better than google's (think they are 4.4.8.8? 8.8.8.8? or maybe it's 8.8.4.4 for the 2nd one)

this also helps keep your ISP out of your business when browsing. they can no longer monitor exactly where you go -- Even with a VPN, lol... becaue you are using their DNS. using google is not keeping anyone out of your business, it's inviting them with a big fancy invitations and a handshake while you pull your pants down and bend over .

change it on your router, not just the Windows connection.. in fact just leave that as default. the router is what you want to change for the DNS. that way you don't have to do set it manually for every computer you connect.

EDIT: use 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 as secondary. do change it on router and each individual PC (ipv4 properties under each connection's properties).

i just looked and mine was auto-filling a secondary dns on one of my connections. it was my vpn's dns but that's a junky one. and.. taking forever to save this edit...

thanks for the info. i had tried that 1.1.1.1 before and i couldn't connect to Win update with it - Comcast having issues, so that's why i went with the 8.8.8.8 google one.
however, i tried the "1" again after your advice, and i can update the Windows thing with it now. i'll look into changing it on my router a little later. right now, got a lot on the table and Dr. visits scheduled rest of week. again, thanks for the heads up on Google. never gave that a thought when i changed it the other day.
oh, and i couldn't log into this site again for about 10 mins (from 12:10 PST), with either of the DNS changes. At 12:20 PST it started working again.

Just happened to me a few minutes ago. Took forever to load new posts and to load a screen after searching for something on Google concerning inactive cards.

Had been quick as Rickey Henderson for me recently, but in last half hour or so, a bit more like Rusty Staub (RIP).

Yep, it's acting up again today... for about the last 30 minutes or so... about 2:30 pm.

I was trying to upload some logos, jerseys and caps on the Graphics Forum... it would take a minute or two to get the website and then take a minute or two do navigate around it... uploading graphics was slow, too.

It's fine now.

you could use your primary isp DNS as the tiertiary... or use 1.1.1.1 then google, then your ISP's etc... when one is down it'll default to the next. or, whichever you see are faster wtih testing and such and privacy concerns.

google almost certain tracks data.. .whehter anonymous or not, it is their business model. a tiger can't change it's stripes. if it works well, and you are okay with it, it shouldn't preclude most people from using it.

we do advance theier machine learning each time we use their services, lol. in a broad perspective. more data, more knowledge to mine ==> better outcomes (for them, maybe not you). saw this coming in the 90's as a teenager, lol. data is the devil! at least initially... hopefully, we persist long enough to see the fruits.

8:15 to 8:35 pm, central standard time in USA... really had trouble accessing OOTP Graphics Forum.

OOTP Website is acting up again... it took me 5 minutes to get it to come on... when I finally got here, it took 5 minutes to open up a thread I wanted to post some graphics on... I waited 5 minutes and just closed it out.

10 minutes later I tried again... it took 5 minutes to get the website... took 2-3 minutes to open the thread I wanted... and then suddenly, all was well.

Worked well.

Is anybody on the OOTP Team paying any attention to this problem?… Markus posted here several days ago and has never gotten back to us... sure would be nice to know someone other than me and a few others are concerned about this.

I can go to any other website with no problems... but not the OOTP Forums... It really is getting to be a little bit frustrating.

I was experiencing issues accessing these forums this evening earlier as well. Can't be sure it was the same time you were because I don't know which time zone you are in but it sounds like it well might have been.

That was my guess. I'm in Mountain Time Zone and pretty sure I was experiencing the connectivity issues at about the same time that you were. For what that's worth.

May be if we give them enough information about when it's happening, they will be able to solve it.

OOTP Forums are the ONLY websites that I have trouble opening up and navigating... ONLY ONE!

It's not my computer or internet provider.

It has worked fine all day today... 1 pm to 5:18 pm Central (USA).

I had some problems connecting on Saturday around the same time you did. Like you, this was the only website to give me problems.

I've encountered forum slowdowns as well, although I've not been able to discern any pattern to them. At least they are infrequent.

Yes, we just have to be patient... it is not constant... just occasional... just a minor irritation and aggravation.

It's been processing slowly again this afternoon... from 2 pm to 2:20 pm.

I immediately went to other websites to see if the navigation was slow and slumbering... ESPN and MLB websties... it was only OOTP that was a problem.

It is OK right now.

At 2:40 pm it took me 11 seconds to go from the Graphics Forum... 25 seconds to the Dynasty Forum and 5 seconds to get back to the Discussions Forum.

It never has been this slow... and occasionally it is work taking a minute to process.

I wish the Moderators would post something... is it is a problem or not?... have they checked it out?

It is not just me.

funny thing on way to this thread yesterday... i was intending to post that my recent problems are probably local... BUT, then as i tried to click the post yesterday, the site just stopped completely. google worked. espn worked.. no ootp.

so, it wasn't my recent issues completely, at least. likely some of my recent 'slowdowns' i mentioned could be caused by the local problem that has since been fixed and fixed before yesterday.

think it was 3pm Eastern on saturday? no response whatsoever from the forum server.. just a blank white screen and a timeout. other sites were working for me at that same time.

i think i did log in twice in a short period of time though.. if that sets off any sort of safety measure etc... think i closed a tab and had to relog in seconds later or i was logge din with another tab and the current one wasn't and asked for credentials again etc... one fo those contexts.

i may have locked myself out due to my own behaviour.
