With no expanded rosters it is harder to save your pitchers for the playoffs. If you move them to the reserve roster to rest players you will lose the player for 14 days and won't be in the playoffs.

This is something else that can be improved in OOTP20 PT.

This is true. But without expanded Sept rosters and exhausted starting pitchers, I went this route, but it does seem wrong.

Of course, by doing this I managed to make it to the World Series. It feels good and very cheap at the same time.

If there's no other alternative, then I hope we wouldn't get banned for throwing meatballs if we let our #5 starter throw complete games each of the last 3 days, then deactivating him to add an extra arm.

The alternative is to manage your team. With a little thought you can set your rotation up for your Ace to go first in the playoffs. I have done it all through Beta and now in Bronze. You can also start a reliever and let your bullpen cover a game as soon as you know you are in. Using a number 5 starter in this manner three straight games almost guarantees you lose two of them at least. To do this is throwing meatballs. Any starter throwing 3 straight complete games by using your player strategy to get the innings and hand forcing the start if it is possible is abusing the system. You are giving games away that could affect the outcome of pennant races. As I said at the beginning, manage your team!

Some of us can't be online all the time.

Oops, I did it again. Added a reliever and Matt Carpenter in the World Series. Carpenter blasts help win a game.

I am telling you I should not be able to do this.

Before last WS of beta, I opened a pack with my World Series bonus and pulled both Chris Sale and Aaron Judge. Sale goes 2-0 and Judge is MVP. I felt bad for about 5 seconds, then was excited for 5 seconds, then back to feeling bad because the reset was coming.

I'm on the West Coast, so I'm "lucky" to be able to do this sometime between 8-10 PM Saturday night if I get a late playoff clinch. Telling people they need to manage their team on a late Saturday night is not a realistic solution for most players.

The catcher improvement is a perfect Johnny Bench added to a 119 win roster, and the catcher saved the DS to use his words.

Whatever 1000PP the minnow could have spent isn't going to top the addition of a perfect Johnny Bench.
Yes, but people who buy pp (I'm guessing that's what Fire Anty does) can get those players any time they want. A player like that always has income regardless of where in the season it is. A minnow is going to have a bulk of his yearly payment coming right before the playoffs. That 1000 pp is nothing to a whale, but it might improve a minnow at 2-3 positions.

This has been discussed before. There will never be no limitations / rules on player transactions prior to the playoffs as this could potentially grind the simulations to a halt, as users would need to set up their rosters manually to fix any issues.

Closed.
