Yeah, a quick comparison at espn.com shows that Matt Anderson wound up with Marlon Anderson's fielding stats. Not just his ratings, but his stats, too,

2. Marcus Giles and Wilson Betemit talent ratings too high
3. Chipper Jones HR rating too low
4. Geronimo Gil is known as a defensive catcher with pop, but u have a D range/arm for him
5. Derek Lowe still seems off to me, 6/6
6. Bartolo Colon seems low
7. Tom Gordon's injury rating needs to be Prone not normal
8. Jimmy Haynes, 15-10, last year, is rated so low shouldn't even be on the major league team
9. Have Wohlers listed as Closer and Wickman and Riske listed as MR
10. Matt Anderson listed as MR not Closer
11. Pretty sure Biggio is going to play CF this year and Berkman will move to LF, you didn't give Biggion a CF rating
12. Mike Macdougal is going to be KC's opening day CL, you have him in AA with a 0 era rating
13. Johan Santana seems very low, this guy will be great
14. Tony Armas has better ratings than Tom Glavine, way too good
15. Brad Wilkerson is NOT a 5 star prospect
16. Contreras, a guy who has never pitched in the majors and been shelled in spring, is the Yankees highest rated SP
17. Rick Harden looks like he might win the A's #5 SP spot but you have in AA nowhere near MLB level in development
18. Joe Valentine is not ready for the majors, needs his ratings lowered but talent remain
19. Chavez and Tejada hit same HR's last year, but Chavez is a 10, Tejada is a 7
20. Josh Fogg is rated too low
21. Jesse Foppert shouldn't be at AAA level ratings, AA more like it
22. Ichiro only a 7 in hits?
23. Matt Morris seems too low, back to back great seasons
24. Brazelton a 0 in ERA but will make the opening day roster
25. Nick Bierbrodt, despite taking a bullet, is no where to be found on TB's roster
26. Urbina listed as MR not closer
27. Halladay is a future Cy Young winner, yet you have him maxed at 6/6
A couple of these so GForce doesn't really have to....(Note I Haven't looked much into the ratings, but some of the basic questions I can answer by reading what GForce wrote)
5. Derek Lowe did have a very good year, but you remember it is more then just the last year that was taken into effect. And the runs allowed is based on all other ratings.
9. Danys Baez is going to be the Closer for Cleveland
12. While MacDougal should be given some sort of a rating, lol just because he's going to be KC's Closer doesn't mean he's good.
16. Contreras is considered by many by far the best pitcher to ever come out of Cuba, and seems to have settled down and has pitched well his last one or two times out. Story on espn.com about it. Shouldn't be the best on the staff, but then again if you think about the Yankees staff isn't all that GREAT, it's just got a lot of good starters.
21. Foppert is going to start the year in Triple-A
22. Ichiro didn't have a great season last year compared to his first. 7 is still very good.
24. Brazelton should be given something, but he's not going to make the opening day rotation, he's going to start in Triple-A barring a late ST injury to one of the 5 starters.

Just a couple note sso GForce doesn't have to.

I tried simming like 50 years with these rosters. Every time I try, OOTP5 crashes after a few seasons. I've been able to sim with the default rosters and custom fictional leagues for 100+ seasons without any crashes. Anyone else have this problem.

Great work on the rosters!

After simming a season with these rosters, I realized how much I hate Sean Casey and the contract the Reds gave him. He sucks as a first basemen (ZERO power), but no team will take on his contract, and I can't just release him because of that contract.

As of 9:30 PM ET v 1.1 was updated to my site (www.rosterdevelopmentgroup.com) for some ratings adjustments, the cut of Greg Vaughn, added Nick Bierbrodt and a touch-up or two.

Thanks to those who continue to give feedback and support of all kinds.

Let me compliment you on the terrific work as well. My only question relates to the Eventual Additions section on the website. When I get started, I will want to put a lot of work into setting up my team. My question then is...should I wait for these eventual additions or should I go ahead and get started? In other words, will the eventual additions be able to be just added over the top or will it necessitate starting all over in the event I download the subsequent file?

If it will require starting over after re-downloading the latest file, no big deal, I will just cut my teeth as an experimental mode to get used to OOTP5 with this file and begin in earnest when the final one is ready.

Thanks for all the work.

You'll most likely have to start again. It'd be great if you could update mid-season.

I want to manage the Reds but the Johnny Haynes rating is a bit unfair.

Can somebody suggest the numbers I could put in for him to get him up to scratch?

He's obviously hit-and-miss but better than one star?

Roster sets are great. I appreciate the time and effort that you've put forth.

One question/suggestion.

St. Louis you have as a tiny market now, only KC, Mi, SDl are lower...I would have to say this is a mistake.

Not a huge deal, I can adjust it, it just seems way low for a franchise that has been at the top of attendance for several years.

I'm not sure but I think team market has more of an effect on TV revenue than attendances. Fan interest seems to affect attendances, so if the Devil Rays won the World Series (!) they would fill the stadium (?) but still get low TV revenue.

Took my first spin with the new rosters, excellent job! One cosmetic thing, Oakland A`s prospect Rich Harden is Canadian (don`t know exactly where).

a few things:

I'll take a look at Jimmy Haynes. And don't put too much stock in star ratings...I tend to think they are off a bit, myself. Oddly, in the 3-year sim I did through 2005, Haynes pitched very well in the majors but kept getting sent to AAA anyway, where he also pitched well.
In 2003 in the sim, he had 9 starts for CIN and was 4-0, 3.88.

I'll revisit the team markets. I was thinking all markets relative to MLB, but that really isn't a good way to do it. I took the markets from a report I saw that broke down the teams into large, medium and small, and I broke those into the smaller categories. But I probably broke them down too much. For St. Louis, their market really isn't big, but their fan loyalty/interest is huge. I didn't touch the loyalty/interest ratings because I didn't have anything to go by and didn't want to rate markets I'm not in arbitrarily. I'll see if I can come up with a better means of doing this by the final release.

I didn't really worry about nationalities in most cases. They are just cosmetic and I figure the ratings and other stuff are more important. So there are many more guys from the wrong place in there too

I will need a bit more time to do the Opening Day set. Now that I am back at work, I'll have less time. It will be some point during April, I hope by April 15. I will, as always, continue to keep people updated on the status.

Thanks again for the interest and support.

Great job on the rosters, thank you for your hard work.

I thought I saw it somewhere but I cant find it, does putting in the real salaries for all the players cause problems? I saw that some are different than what they are being paid thias year and I wanted to change them.

Thanks

I wouldn't think it would be a problem if you turned financials off...
with Financials on, you may see teams like the Yankees dumping salary

I've been looking into the finances; and I don't think OOTP will handle the proper wages as it is.

I put them in, and the Yankee's payroll came in at about $160m.

The revenues the game generates won't come near this; the game is way off in terms of local tv revenue, merchandising etc The gate money for the Yankees is about $98m IRL but $30m-odd in the game for example.

I'm going to work out how to get real salaries to work by adjusting the local TV deals to take into account these revenues, other local revenues and the higher gate receipts from real life.

I've got all the figures from 2001, just need to go through them and work out how exactly I'm going to do it.

Excellent roster set as usual.

A couple of things I've noticed though:

1. Is the triples park factor for Comerica Park correct at 200?
2. Are you going to amend Comiskey Park to U.S. Cellular Field?

Thanks.

I hope to figure out the who financial thing so I can do the TV contracts and such and have each team represented accurately. But that will be once I take care of the players.

The real salaries aren't so much a "problem" but the game isn't really designed to work with them. Last year, it was noted that the reduced salaries work ok, so v 1.1 has the real salaries at 70% of actual value. The financial thing is going to be a tricky balance, but I think I may try to tackle it once the opening day set comes out. Universal $10 ticket prices and similar tv contracts for everyone aren't really accurate. But I want to wait until the ratings and players are added before I get into that, so I don't go screwing the whole set up by messing with financials. That way, the set will be out and the finances will be one full separate update. If they don't work as I want, then nothing will be lost.
