In the current camera, I do not have a view of the left fielder so anything out that way I rely solely on the long-form PBP (game sound + text-to-speech) to fill me in. I make sure to keep the infield visible so that I can see any scoring plays.

I did not know about FOV. I just did a quick check and that helped by itself in setting up a dugout view. Will have to play around with it a bit. Thx!

I've been more of a fictional league type of player of this game. League in a fictional nation. League in fictional world. Even a league in a science fiction universe. For me personally, I can't detach myself with historical runs or sims based in reality, similar to what battists mentioned earlier.

I find myself actually thinking up fictional league scenarios more than I actually play the game sometimes. Actually, sort of took a break from the game to do a little world building for a dynasty report I'm planning to write up for in the future.

Red Sox fan here, but playing as the Padres in OOTP. Love rebuilding bad teams into winners. I do it in all sports games.
What football (as in NFL) and basketball games do you use?

I am pretty much a Cardinals guy.
Buy OOTP almost every year and play out a few seasons beginning from said season, just to see what I can do with them.
It was a lot of fun during the Pujols era, although I have had some success with this year's group. Won the championship in 2020 and have the best record in the NL in a 2021 season currently stallled by patch issues.

I have done a couple of historical seasons and tournaments as well.

Purely fictional with a league I've ran for a few versions now.

I love that it's MY league.Coming up with ideas for teams, logos, jerseys in the creation and expansion of the league was part of the fun.
Tons of great ideas from people on the forum showing what they did helped to fine tune my league.

I use The Show to play with current teams and I always found historical to be tough to play because of the nostalgia of what happened in real life.

Started with historical, have now moved to fictional with the cities/teams and player names consistent with the fantasy setting I have created for the purpose of writing novels and short stories.

Historical. And if you play it long enough, it (sort of) becomes fictional anyway.

While I could probably find a lot to love about creating my own fictional game, I haven't yet been interested enough to start one.
