Sorry to hear about this The Game. You're one of the good guys around here, so I hope you can get things fixed up/OOTP guys can help you figure out what's wrong. It's quite possible they're not at full staff right now (which is quite small at the best of times) due to vacations and what not, so the best I can offer is to keep hammering away at it. Have you tried zipping up the folders that went to the wrong spot on your computer and then extracting them to the My Documents game folder? Sounds like a simple solution that you may or may not have tried yet. If you have tried it and it hasn't worked, please don't shoot the messenger OK? I wish you the best.

I was having crash problems too until I adjusted the crowd detail setting as suggested by ootp staff. I have not experienced any major issues with ootp 19 since then. I was surprised that this change actually solved the issue. I trust you have tried this fix.

I understand frustration. What I don’t comprehend is why titling a thread like a 14-year-old suggests that positive responses will result. I have a couple of thoughts, and if I’m able to articulate them with a better spirit, I’ll offer them for consideration. Also, I want to put the ideas to my own tests first to ensure the thoughts have merit at all. I’m not a sycophant, but I do often default to civility- even in frustration -over tantrum.

Until then...

Agreed here. I almost quit buying after 17/18 due to what seemed like every new release making things worse. Have not had a single issue with any of the releases this time.

I did purchase a new and significantly upgraded computer this past winter, so do wonder the extent to which that helped. My two cents.

I don't have anything constructive to add other than I have opened OOTP 19 a total of 14 times since March and have played a total of 2 hours and 19 minutes.

No problems running OOTP19 on my MacBook Pro mid-2015 with Retina display.

Sounds like the issue is with your PC.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! We definitely want to help you get that resolved. I'll be happy to help.

We've replied to every support ticket that's come in, typically daily but always within at least a couple days. So if you haven't gotten the replies, it's most likely an issue with your mail's spam filters. Check your spam filter (or it could even be that your mail provider is blocking the messages at their end before they even get to your spam filter).

As most of the other comments mention though, what you're describing definitely sounds like there's something going wrong on your end. What you're describing isn't anything that should happen on a healthy machine with OOTP correctly installed. A file transfer should never take as long as you're describing f.e. That's a pretty good clue that something beyond the game is just not working correctly on your system.

Even so I can still try to help to whatever extent possible. The trick will be to figure out just what's going on and how and why that's adversely affecting OOTP. Hopefully we can figure out just what's going on and get it sorted out.

If you aren't getting the replies to the tickets though, just send me an email directly describing what's going on again and I can give you a hand that way, rather than going through the support system.

Like many others, I can sympathize. I’ve had every version of OOTP going back to 4, and there have been a few I’ve HATED. But I love v19, and have no technical problems with it. I’ve had one crash to desktop in about 300 hours of play, and even then I only lost a couple days in-game. Furthermore, this is the first version I’ve found the 3D engine and in-game sound worth using.

Have to disagree.
I think that this version is the best ever put out by Markus.
I can only imagine what he has up his sleeve for OOTP20

Still a pain to be in the 8th inning of a good game and just have the game crash. Oh well.
I had a similar problem with OOTP18. Random crashes that would happen every 2 or 3 days. I never put in a ticket since they were not real frequent. Just mad sure I backed up often in case I had a crash. Thought might be related to my computer, since even though my computer is a beast it is also 4 years old. Since switching to OOTP19 I have had no issues, and it has been one of the most stable versions I have encountered in some time.

I never thought I would HATE a version/s of OOTP, but then 17 and 18 came along. I had to talk myself into buying 19 and I'm glad to report the issues I had with 17 and 18 have all been addressed and I'm once again a happy OOTPer. I should go over 500 hours this weekend or some time next week.

I think the hardest thing is when you have issues with the game, but everyone else is cruising along enjoying themselves. Lucky for me, I had a fellow forum member (Actionjackson) that allowed me to bend his ear over the last two versions. Hard to say how many pm's I sent ranting and raving in frustration. I thank him for listening and constantly telling me not to give up on the game. I know plenty of y'all grew tired of my whining and like The Game in this thread, I probably voiced my dismay with sarcasm.

Sorry to hear some are having a difficult time, personally I love the new version. Run it on my Mac, have had zero problems loading the game and it has performed at a consistent level since day one.

During '18 occasionally the game would crash and need to be re-boot. Have not experienced that with 19.

I have had too change the way I play from previous versions and I agree that this game hasn't been their best.

Thanks dude. I always figured we'd be true 'til death OOTP16ers, and then OOTP19 came along and changed everything. The PMs are fine. The only thing that was irritating had nothing to do with you. I didn't know you could turn off e-mail notification, so I would get tons of "You have received a private message at OOTP forums" messages piling up in my e-mail box. Finally I stumbled across the checkbox that would prevent that from happening, and now no more e-mails.
