Of late I have for the first time been trying a league in which I manage every game and have no GM control (usually do the opposite), and it's led me to seriously consider a suggestion thread for some feature to allow communication between the manager and GM,

"Hey, Alex? That guy you just put on unconditional waivers has been my third best hitter. The one you demoted has been my second best SP. And the one you outright released had been my third best SP. Can I keep at least one, please?"

We started 25-17. Since then, 13-45.

I've been playing the same way. Since I'm in the 1940s, my GM trouble is more with trades than waivers and free agency. I get that it's part of the game but maybe at least asking me about a trade that includes some some high farm arms for a 32 year old SS when my middle infield is already depth-heavy? And then, based on the GM personality or whatever else, they can either agree with what you told them or go against it.

Of course, a few times, they've made a trade that actually helps, so I guess you take the pros with the cons haha.

As a GM, I'd welcome the obverse, asking my manager why he doesn't start that pitcher I just traded for or why he's platooning my best hitter.

Me too. I would never get any sleep if I didn't control things. I'd also run out of managers I could hire and fire by the All Star break.

Manager & GM. complete control over everything (that is, until the latest owner).
