Lukas, I did all of those things to my world_default file, but in my save, when I got to "Explore World", Israel's ethinicity is still listed as Arabic. When I use the drop down, the one I added isn't available. Ideas?

Did this at the beginning of the world_default file right after the "U.S. African American "39" one:
<ETHNICITY id="40" name="Israeli" african="0" asian="0" east_indian="920" caucasian="80" hispanic="0" /> Then, later on, I have this where the country Israel is: </NATION> <NATION id="94" name="Israel" pop="7587000" etid="40" capid="35283" gender="0" bbqual="2" abbr="ISR" dem="Israeli" time_zone="2" observes_dst="1"> Anything look weird? |

Not offhand but I'd have to look more into exactly what needs to be set and I don't have the time for that now, sorry!
I feel like someone posted examples of how to do this in the last couple days. Maybe search around a little and look through the recent posts of some of the guys who deal with namesets and ethncities a lot.

Rosco: did you reload the world_default.xml file after you made the changes?

You do have to re-load world_default.xml. Also, you may have to reload the names as well, depending on where you are in game set-up.
I went in to a little more detail than above in this post on how to do the changes.

Thank you! I didn't see that little line with etid to "40" and pct to "100" in it. I hadn't changed that one

Hey cavebutter. Still not working and I imported both the world data and the names.
On my nation editor, now instead of "Arabic and 25%" like it was, it's not even giving any listing and saying 100%. Why is it doing this? Then, when I click the drop down to look for Israeli (which I figured would be one of the options now), it only lists the original 40 Last edited by Rosco Peabody; 09-13-2018 at 10:47 PM. |

Hmm. Could you copy/paste the entries for Israel in both the <ETHNCITIES> and <NATIONS> tag? No idea what to tell you without seeing it.

Assuming the closing tag for nation is there after all of the states and cities, I really can't tell why it's not working for you. A couple "is it plugged in" type questions:
Are you sure you've got the right filename on on your world_default.xml file? Have you re-loaded the world_default.xml via the in-game function? Have you adjusted and imported the names.txt and first_names.txt files via the in-game function? With the correct file names? Have you tried it with a new game?

It's called world_default.xml, so it should be fine Have you re-loaded the world_default.xml via the in-game function? Yes, I reloaded it both ways, with only the things that have changed function and with all of it Have you adjusted and imported the names.txt and first_names.txt files via the in-game function? Yes, both of them With the correct file names? As far as I know Have you tried it with a new game? No not yet, but shouldn't it work with an already loaded game? [/QUOTE] |
