So it's saved transactions? My 2nd year standard league took about 1 hour to transfer. My 7th year 30 team fictional league took about 15 minutes. I think they are the same set up as far as saved transactions. Not sure what the difference was.

Small sacrifices for big gains. I’m ok, even if it is sort of like being a kid that’s waited seemingly forever for Christmas... just to be told we can’t open presents yet because Aunt Carmen is running late!

Reading what other players are going through I guess I don't feel so bad. Fortunately it was not essential for me to import my 18 league as it was not going to be continued, but if for someone who is dead set on continuing an existing league something needs to change.

Well, isn't the good news in this that transitioning a league from 19 to 20 will be much quicker? That's on top of what Andreas said about "The database will be smaller and faster."

40 team expansion league, 2 seasons in, saving all transactions.

Currently at 12 hours ... 202000+ transactions.

I am using a Dell Venue 8 with 4gb or ram.
All other imports I did were less than 30 minutes.

No biggie. Will continue to let it run.

I have already imported 2 huge leagues (over 8gig between the two) - went fast enough. but the hardware it is running on is pretty beastly and I set it off and let it go while I had other things to do and it was done by the time I checked on it.

for me importing every year is way, way, way worth it.One of these leagues I started back in v3 and have imported every year

Question

Anyone have tips that I may be overlooking for making a file smaller before import? I only have my league set to save transactions for 2 years, but I still have very large file.

To be honest if you can't wait a day for it to import then your league probably isn't that import to you. For the guys that love there long running leagues we would probably wait a week just to be able to continue them in OOTP19.

But each to their own

Agreed. I don't mind waiting, but I'm all for saving time if anyone knows an easier way to quickly make a game file smaller. I'm not the most tech savy and always learning new things about OOTP so figured I'd ask if anyone else done anything that has helped.

Also, I've been looking at ways to streamline my game file anyways as I'm always copying it over to a backup hard drive.

I had 15 leagues (MLB, AAA,AA,A,R, 3 Independent leagues, Japanese Pro, AAA, Feeder college/HS, AFL and two tournements). Had it set to save everything. Had 37 years of info to move. Had it on steam so I dont know how to look or how big the file is. If you can tell me were to look I can reply back with the file size.

I moved one league in mid-season ... just for a test run, and it took about 5 - 10 minutes.

Meanwhile I moved three of my leagues on day 1 of the off-season - as I usually do - and there was not the slightest problem ... it didn't take longer than 1 or 2 minutes

BTW, my files were/are between 2.6 and 2.9 GB apiece

So I guess it has more to do with what hardware you have and not so much with OOTP19

OOTP -Saved Game - that League- Right Click - Properties. i no longer keep an almanac but part of my league is a historic MLB which is in part why my file is so large. i clear most stuff out after 1 year.
