Henry (HOK) Waugh
Henry is to OOTP ballpark design what HOK is to MLB. What Diskin's Deli is to pastrami sandwiches. All this flurry of creativity must mean that everyone's getting anxious for opening day, like me. I don't know if anybody on these boards plays All-Star Baseball by Acclaim on the PS2, but if you're a fan of ballpark design, that game is loaded with all the in-progress and wished-for new stadiums. You can play in new parks for the Phillies, Twins, A's, Cardinals, Mets, Red Sox, Yankees, and Padres. There's even a proposed Washington D.C. park! If you sim a franchise for a few years, your team actually moves into their new stadium in the year it's projected to open. I love OOTP but All-Star Baseball 2004 is a nice change-of-pace.
Note: My real-life Twins signed an honest-to-goodness free agent. What's next? Outdoor baseball? |

Dueling Ballparks - League Park
Henry's setting the bar high with his beautiful new ballparks - attached is another fictional ballpark from the Teflon Skies collection that I call League Park. It houses the league offices for my fictional association in the center field towers as well as its hall-of-fame.
Capacity: 34,220 Left Field Line: 315 Left Field: 340 Left Center: 389 Center Field: 395 Right Center: 389 Right Field: 340 Right Field Line: 315 In reading Henry's earlier post, it sounds like we do a lot of similar things. I also use Paint Shop Pro primarily and build my parks using image captures pieced together from various PC games I own. |

Capitol Field
Capitol Field sits directly across the river from the it's namesake and offers a splendid vista of National City. The stadium is unique in that it features extensive seating in center field and smaller pavilions on either side. (Democrats on the left, Republicans on the right - so the joke goes) Originally built with huge outfield dimensions, an inner wall was erected shortening the distances considerably.
Capacity: 28,960 Left Field Line: 333 Left Field: 350 Left Center: 375 Center Field: 410 Right Center: 380 Right Field: 353 Right Field Line: 336 |

Harbor Stadium
Attending a game at Harbor Stadium is one of the unique experiences in baseball. Fielders have been known to lose fly balls in the frequent dense fogs and fans have learned to eat their hot dogs quickly lest the ever-present seagulls snatch them from their hands. Harbor Stadium is also one of the most racous parks in baseball as the 2nd deck standing room porch is reserved for free tickets given out on a first-come-first-serve basis on game days.
Capacity: 37,000 Left Field Line: 325 ft. Left Field: 338 ft. Left Center: 355 ft. Center Field: 400 ft. Right Center: 373 ft. Right Field: 358 ft. Right Field Line: 339 ft. |

Teflon Skys,
Do you also plan to release these in a package? I'd like to get them as .bmp files. These are excellent!

Wow, these ballparks by Henry and Teflon are simply amazing...great work both of you. Do either of you have plans to make a complete set?

It's very unlikely we'll provide them in BMP format. The server storage space is just to significant.
Henry ps: If you right click on any of the above images, you can choose to save them as BMP files

Yes. I've done that. It's just that they're more crisp in .bmp format. But, I understand perfectly what you mean about the file size. These stadiums are fantastic! |

Fictional Stadiums
Like Henry, I use the Stadiums from Tony LaRussa and OTB to 'create' new stadiums. I don't have the graphical talent of Henry or Teflon, but with some creative cut-n-paste I created these a while back.

Blueturf,
You've created some fine parks. Really like the triple deck Ebbets and Les Bois. The modified Busch looks good, too. Don't sell yourself short. You've done fantastic work on these. Like Henry said earlier, we can use as many fictional parks as we can get. It's great to see what folkes have done. I havn't worked on fictional parks in quite some time. These samples are making me want to get to work on a few more of my own.

Wow, definitly some sweet feilds. By far the best i have seen, hands down.
Nice work! Capitol and Harbor fields are especialy the ones i like the most. Can none of the fields be made into clear skies? I think some of them would be even better that way. Plus like everyone else, dieing to see more of these. ![]() ...... If i wanted to use one of these parks. I would right click, save as to my graphics folder (as a .bmp)? Correct? Liberty Field
Liberty Field was THE state of the art baseball facility of its day. When originally constructed, this massive steel and concrete stadium nearly doubled the seating capacity of its nearest rival. When its claim to largest capacity was eventually challenged by newer stadiums, the owner added 1500 precariously perched seats atop the second deck roof and reclaimed the distinction.
Capacity: 66,500 Left Field Line: 318 Left Field: 360 Left Center: 399 Center Field: 408 Right Center: 385 Right Field: 350 Right Field Line: 314 |
