Not sure what you mean by that. You obviously do see it when they try with no one on base. If you mean you never see "soandso attempts to bunt for a hit but is thrown out at first, runner advances to 2nd". I think the reason is because historically in the MLB if a batter attempted to bunt for a hit with a runner on base but is thrown out while moving the runner over, the official gives the batter the "benefit of the doubt" and rules it a sac bunt. So I believe the same thing is happening in OOTP. If a batter tries to bunt for a hit with a runner on base and is thrown out while moving the runner over, OOTP just calls it a sac bunt.
It may be helpful to the user for the text to always point out whether the batter was trying to get himself on base or just trying to move the runner along when bunting so we can understand the logic of the AI in these situations better. |
