That takes away the risk aspect of the game. No second chances. Maybe you should have a drinking league set up in OOTP.

Totally agree. The Strat-o-Matic computer game has a 'Delete Last Play' function and it comes in handy every once in a while.

But Strat and OOTP are completely different game styles, no?

I don't see why it can't be a feature in solo play at least. I generally just watch each game play out and sometimes it completely ignores my 7-day lineup or randomly uses a different starter (double headers especially are always ****ed up this way) and I have to ctrl alt dlt to avoid being screwed by it

Go into your OOTP 18 folder, then copy the saved games folder to another location...do this each time you close out or save and you will have a backup without having to go through the entire process. I would still perform a back up now and again, but this is an easy day to day way to revert back.

Also, if you are using a mac, and you have time machine, you can revert back to a previous pint in time.

As others have mentioned, standard practice would call for a backup prior to any significant changes or alterations; regular backups at your preference of interval notwithstanding.

As to mishaps, bad decisions, that dawk keybork!, etc.... so what? OOTP is an extremely sophisticated framework of tracking a plethora of data during any single sitting that may risk corruption just being so complex, let alone having to ignore what it's done and affect a system restore without further risk. Suffice to say it has options-a-million, created to service or placate its clientele, often on mere whims.

As the old adage goes, why should your lack of planning become someone else's emergency? OOTP isn't, nor should it be, responsible for personal mistakes and shortcomings. It is what it is. The city isn't building flood walls along the sidewalks to keep a drunk from stumbling into traffic. Choices. The game offers us many. Many you have to make on your own.

I agree. I tried to add a league but accident added another MLB league in the process and tried to deleted it but it just screwed everything up. Had to delete that save a few years in. Bummer. I tried to exit out but it saved.
