I'm of the opinion that when injury settings are changed to high, it's a necessity to change aging and development at some level. And I want realistic injuries.
I played with Spanish Lefty's settings in '17, which seem pretty drastic (0.3 aging, 1.2-ish for development I think, definitely high injuries, also with a high TCR, 170 I think). However, Spanish Lefty showed with several 30-40 year sims that the number of players at high and low ages with decent WAR values were very similar to real MLB. I really liked his settings in '17, and I hope he takes a look for '18. I find that even with the apparently extreme settings, I've still signed a bunch of guys who in their last year or two are $20 million bums. When they go, they go. And with high injuries, long contracts are a huge risk; you have to balance locking a guy up cheap (with league financial evolution on) with potentially being stuck with a guy who is never on the field. |

i can tell they really did affect distribution of at least eh seed players...
same ltm/lt and structure etc... way different results with seed players.. i have not gotten to the fictionally cerated ones, yet. some long-standing ideas may need to be amended this year... at least more so than in recent years. LTMs definitely aren't translating - which i think is a good omen, in case that's not clear. a real change occurred |

.920
1.150 .930 1.150 Dev speed might still be a bit low though...still seeing lots of 25ish year old top prospects in A/AA ball that aren't close to making the majors all around the league. I think the age speeds work pretty well. A couple versions ago I had it set at .750 and had way too many guys in their late 30s playing like their prime, which happens IRL, but rarely. Here you get more guys playing well late in their careers, but nothing ridiculous, and still some guys who flame out in their early 30s. |

Far as I can tell, just reload the file and Bob's your uncle. As soon as you reload the file it will be there. I don't know if that's generally the case, but this is just an addition as opposed to changing something. I haven't seen any issues with it.

I was wondering that myself, recently. Despite his irascibility, I miss the guy. I hope he's alright.

I refuse to acknowledge this as the true annual settings thread until The Wolf makes a post!

Maybe he's mad because of all the promotion/relegation talk takes away from his "real" baseball.

I'm thinking that the youth might not be developing fast enough, but I'm not sure if 1.1 is a high enough boost.
Anyone who's played through multiple years with the game have any thoughts to share on this? |

It's the setting for Batter Aging Batter Development Pitcher Aging Pitcher Development where 1.0 is derfault. So the settings mbi put in your post you quoted would presumably cause crazy slow Aging and lots of loooooong careers. Like crazy long (at least that's my guess I've never tried that low a number). I do .9 1.1 .9 1.1

One things I have decided for sure is to turn off overall settings....they seem better this year, but they are still a problem with them with OSA in international leagues.

like some game mechanics won't change due to a patch, in some cases... this is not somethign we can export, manipulate, and fit back into the code. if you can re-import it, then you can change it midstream... safe generalization without being omniscient.
