Everyone is absolutely entitled to their own opinion, and I apologize if I came across as defensive in my initial response to the OP. He had insinuated (in another post just a few minutes before this thread) that OOTP wasn't even worth $30 unless it came with graphics such as being able to watch pitchers throw the ball, warm up, walk to the mound, and the ability to watch games from any and all parts of the ballpark/stadium. And hey, he's entitled to his opinion, but I simply felt that he's looking for a different game. At this point, that's just NOT Out Of The Park Baseball and I don't know if it ever will be. Graphics will continue to improve, yes. But MLB The Show level of detail? I doubt it..but who knows.

I honestly wasn't intending to ruffle any feathers.

I forgot you did say that. I think without that context, you just came off as overly harsh to someone makin a suggestion. I also completely disagree that ootp needs good graphics to sell for 35 dollars. But everyone values their dollar differently I suppose

For a game that the developers love to run around patting themselves on the back for all the different ways it can be played. They don't like to hear opinions of people who play the game.

Maybe some ideas are unrealistic or impossible to implement. But that doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to express their thoughts, unless of course it's in this forum because it's clear that only those who agree 100 percent with the development team are allowed to have any opinion whatsoever.
While I agree with you wholeheartedly, this has been a long standing problem everywhere, not just this forum. I challenge you to find a forum (sports, news, or anything) that doesn't have the same problems - people who disagree with an idea and bash it (and often the individual who made it).

It'll never go away, it's much too easy to argue with and bad mouth others in this day and age.

I don't understand the mentality of doing that, but it's something that isn't going to stop anytime soon.

Most of the time the argument was about time/funds allocation. Many feel that spending time with graphics will take away from improving the game as a text game.

Markus assured us that it wouldn't when he introduced the 3D pawn players. So I'm all for improving graphically if that's the case.

Well, I for one am willing to admit that if The Show & OOTP ever had a baby, I wouldn't abandon it in front of the nearest fire station or on the steps of the local orphanage, that's for sure. Just imagine having the ability to play The Show's RTTS using OOTP's ability to start the game in any season with real rosters from 1871 onward, all with the The Show's stunning graphics. Nuff said.

Pure fantasy, yes, but certainly an intriguing one.

The thing is this:

EA Sports/Sony's Budgets >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OOTPB's Budget

Now if the OOTPB development team got an investor to put in money to match the other big company budgets then I'm sure there would be some crazy good graphics.

Oh and also the game wouldn't cost us $30 either, try $100 like the others.

Well it's $60 and ootp is $35. Not 100 and 30.

Well in Australia it does mate!

Sometimes you can get it for $80 once it's been out for 8 months. Also OOTP is currently available for $31.99 if you pre-order, which means neither of us were right. (That would be $42.19 for me here in Australia, and $30 is closer to $32 then $35 but who cares right?)

Also I would pay $100 for a game that had MLB the show graphics and the depth of OOTP combined. Another thing is MLB: The Show's depth isn't even in the same league as OOTP, but they can charge $XX.XX (left that blank so I wouldn't get told off again) just because it looks pretty.

My personal opinion is that we don't need a graphics engine for ballpark details - a text base routine would suffice.

I started a similar thread here (http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ogression.html) that explains my thinking in more detail.

As a few here have said, I don't think we want the finances of the game overpowering what's happening on the field. Real world Owners and GMs have large staffs which take care of all the details - in OOTP it's only us, so it's really easy to get overburdened if what you really want is a baseball game.

I would totally enjoy a robust financial engine with every option previously mentioned.

Clearly the team stadium is a huge part of the team.

like everything else. Uncheck or choose default settings.

Of course, that's just MY personal opinion.

But what I gather (or at least try to understand) from mgom's posts, he seems to constantly request these MLB The Show big fancy graphics type features. It wasn't just directed at this specific post, but many of his. I was just simply stating that I feel he's setting himself up for disappointment with the level of specific detail he seems to be expecting with certain features.
I agree - while I recognize all players want different features, I would never play the game if I had to concern myself with the price of pretzels or having to negotiate with local real estate moguls to build me a shopping center.

There is enough immersion in dealing with rosters, free agents, trades, minors, etc. that I do not need to worry about whether or not my city has a sufficient mass transit system.

Actually related to the thread and not arguments that have been raging for 10 years or more, I said elsewhere, but I would like there to be say 16 or 24 fictional stadiums by default, as opposed to just one.

Front Page Sports Baseball and High Heat have Live Play by Play but doesn't have all the Features/Options that this Game has. Wouldn't you like to see a Pitcher Warming up.A Brawl happening and so on live. Maybe get MLB Network or ESPN License to use their guys in Game so you here in the News like Rosenthal saying Trade Deadline this year meaning 2017 will be a lot or these Managers are on the hot seat or this is the latest Rumor on Jay Bruce.

The interestin question for the future: will the show inororate an OOTP style ply to its game, or will OOTP incorporate elements of the show. Eventually in the future (maybe way down the line) it would make sense for a fusion.

I would love to have the ability to create my own custom stadiums that would export a model to a format that OOTP could import. Frankly, I'd pay for that by itself.
