I've probably played around 100 OOTP seasons over various leagues, and I've never had anybody get further than 45 games. The record in my current league, just finishing its 15th season, is 39 games.

I don't have it in front of me, but I know once I made a player who was totally maxed out in every category. The first time he never got that high, because he kept getting walks to break his hitting streak (multiple games going 0-1 with 4 walks, for example). Even when I changed his eye rating to 0, so that he hit something like .515 for the season with the only walks being intentional walks, even then most of the time he was still maxing out at somewhere in the 40s. Of course, he would have a 40 game hit streak, miss a game, then go on another 40 game streak right after, but I don't think even with him I got him up over 56.

Are you talking about Rod Carew? His longest hit streak was 25.

It's still ridiculous he won the MVP and not Teddy.
Regardless, I feel like the thread pops up a lot. I haven't had anyone beat it though either.

10th season and longest was Frank Thomas at 35 games. And I have yet to pitch a no-no!

A Rookie Year for the Ages
During my last simulated season (1911) in my fictional USBL league I had noticed that someone was flirting with .400 most of the season. It wasn't until i was looking at the post season awards that I noticed the same player had won the ROY and the NL MVP. I then noticed he also had the longest hitting streak in the league of 57 games! The previous record was 43.

I had Joe Jackson in a historical sim set it with 57 but it happened over two seasons 38 then 19 respectively. It was in v6.5 so no definitive record or S/S to show.

Manny Machado in my 2016 quickstart had a 53-game streak. Went on to win the MVP as well.

Very cool thread. The longest I've ever had is a measly 28 games with a guy who had a 96 out of 100 contact rating.

I had a fictional player once attain a 49-game hit streak a few versions ago (I think it was 14). Never saw anyone come close to 56 in any historical sims I can recall, including Joltin' Joe himself.

I currently have R.J. Rayborn from the Pecos League on a 50 game streak at season end...problem is, he just got signed by a Major League team for this year. I guess if he flames out and ends up back in the Pecos he can continue the streak?

The longest I've personally had was a 41-game streak by Tony Gwynn, spanning from Sept 1984 to May 1985. He played in Fenway Park in both seasons, which probably helped.

I've had a few guys come somewhat close, into the 40s but never hit the 50 mark unless I alter settings

I think the longest in any of my solo leagues was 38. In my current online league, Jose Abreu is on a 34 game hitting streak.

After 17 seasons in our online league, the longest for us was 35 games.
So, not even close...

after 1000s of OOTP seasons I saw (not on my team) my personal longest at 51 games! was very cool as I watched and checked it every day from about 35 on the same way I use to when I was a kid and someone would have a long streak.
very cool, yet another joy of playing OOTP
