July 22: 3-2 vs Blue Jays. Dae Ho Lee's pinch-hit home run made the difference, and Hisashi Iwakuma pitched effectively.

July 23: 7-4 vs Blue Jays. Kyle Seager homered, and the bullpen bailed out an ineffective Felix, who was trying for his 20th win.

July 24: 5-3 vs Blue Jays. Robinson Cano and Mike Zunino homered, and Seth Smith drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning.

July 30: 5-2 vs Cubs. Hisashi Iwakuma got win #15, and Steve Cishek closed things out.

July 31: 8-5 vs Cubs. Franklin Gutierrez, Ketel Marte, Robinson Cano and Adam Lind homered in the win.

Seth Smith was the Player of the Month, hitting .437 with four home runs and 19 RBI. Steve Cishek won Pitcher of the Month, with 16 saves and 23 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings.

August 3: 3-0 vs Red Sox. Felix pitched a game for his 20th win, a complete-game shutout with ten strikeouts and only four hits.

August 4: 9-3 vs Red Sox. Cano had four hits, and Kyle Seager had three including a home run. This game clinched the AL West for the Mariners, who currently have a 55 1/2 game lead in the division.

August 5: 7-6 vs Angels. Cano exceeded his efforts with five hits in this one, including a home run.

August 6: 7-5 vs Angels. Seager homered again, and Steve Cishek got his 48th save.

August 7: 8-4 vs Angels. Cano homered and had five RBI.

I'm amused by that as well. I considered trading for Russell Martin, who is perpetually on the trade block, but figured no, I'd rather win with a festering sinkhole in the middle of the lineup.

August 17: 13-1 vs Angels. Kyle Seager homered twice, reaching 28 on the season, and drove in five.

August 18: 11-5 vs Angels. Leonys Martin homered and drove in three in the easy win.

August 19: 6-5 vs Brewers, 14 innings. Adam Lind grounded into a double play to kill a ninth-inning rally, but Nelson Cruz hit a sac fly to end the game some time later. Martin sprained his elbow and will miss a week.

September 30: 10-9 vs A's. Nelson Cruz blasted two home runs two reach 41 on the season and drove in six. The M's overcame a poor start by Wade Miley.

October 1: 3-1 vs A's. Cruz hit his 42nd home run and Nate Karns reached 19 wins.

October 2: 4-0 vs A's. Felix pitched seven innings to win 30 games, as the M's completed their undefeated season.

Nelson Cruz won Player of the Month for hitting .324 with 9 home runs and 28 RBI. Steve Cishek got his third Pitcher of the Month with 10 saves and 22 strikeouts over 16 1/3 innings.

Felix finished the season with the pitching Triple Crown, with a 30-0 record, a 2.32 ERA, and 243 strikeouts. (Clayton Kershaw took the Triple Crown in the NL.) Robinson Cano won the batting title, hitting .356 with 235 hits and 52 doubles, and also paced the AL in WAR with 8.6

October 7: 2-1. Felix won game one with 8 1/3 innings of one-run ball.

October 8: 2-1. Hisashi Iwakuma pitched 7 1/3 innings, striking out seven and walking no one.

October 10: 12-11. Despite giving up nine runs in the sixth inning, the M's prevailed in a wild one. Adam Lind, Ketel Marte, and Robinson Cano homered, and Cano was named series MVP.

League Championship Series: 4-0 vs Indians

October 15: 15-4. Kyle Seager homered twice, scored four runs, and drove in six. Leonys Martin and Chris Iannetta both homered as well.

October 16: 7-6. Consecutive singles by Robinson Cano, Shawn O'Malley, and Luis Sardinas put the M's ahead for good in the eighth inning. Cano had three hits and Steve Cishek got his fourth save of the playoffs.

October 18: 4-2 . Kyle Seager's ninth-inning double was the game-winning run batted in. Seth Smith ruptured his Achilles tendon and will miss the rest of the playoffs.

October 19: 8-3. Franklin Gutierrez, Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz all homered as Felix won his third game of the postseason. Kyle Seager won the series MVP.

Yes- I agree. Lots of good players but no one who is earth shattering. And some of the pitching was downright mediocre. Pythagorean record was 131-31.
