Well, that's what's so frustrating about this. I'm not playing with any settings I didn't already use in 16. But I never ran into this kind of constant "Fix other team's roster problems b/c AI refuses to handle it" problem before 17 in trying to sim fast through seasons. |

I had also that problem in the 16. Had to delete one league already because of this... I didn't set any limits at all...

This was a known problem in beta testing. It had something to do with the number of foreign players. I had the same problem multiple times using AI control.
It supposedly was fixed, but is worth reporting again in the bug forum. Sorry that you received replies that were not professional or courteous. This was certainly a problem noted in testing and I'm sorry that you ran in to it as well. I'm sure Markus and the team will try to figure it out. I have not had the problem occur when sticking to just the standard minor leagues, without all of the international leagues. I also could only play on by completely deleting the leagues causing the problem.

Thanks for the info. This was a pretty civil thread actually, so no worries : )
I'll post something in the Bugs thread. It's hard to diagnose. I'm not using any foreign leagues, just the MLB/MiLB standard league. And have no limits set on foreign players. Would love to see this fixed though. For those of us who are getting it, it makes simming multiple seasons a huge headache. |

I do have roster size limits on my minors and no ghost players, but no age limits. I've used these settings for a quite awhile over several versions with no issues, so I do think there's a bug here where certain rare situations are tripping up the AI that didn't trip it up before. At least for me, It seems in each case where this happened, there was a player eligible to return from the minor league disabled list that wasn't moved over yet. Since the player hasn't been moved back to the active roster of the minor league team yet and the team is still over the limit, there must be two things happening simultaneously to cause the issue, or perhaps it is a combination of players returning from injuries and other roster challenges. Certainly eliminating roster limits is a reasonable work-around to the problem, but in my experience I've found that roster limits result in better AI decisions overall regarding minor league roster management. In previous versions I found that without minor league roster limits the AI would stuff some teams with too many players and some prospects wouldn't get sufficient playing time. But that's my limited experience and could be outdated by a few versions. Regardless, I think there is a real issue here that is affecting some users more than others, and I think something has changed from 16 to 17 to cause it or make it worse. |

I haven't seen the same in my testing, so I expect there's something going on with those specific leagues.
Please post in the bug reports forum with the league files, and we can see what combination of factors is contributing to the situation and figure out how to solve it. Other than in extremely rare cases, you should not have to intervene with AI team roster issues. |

It was with the standard MLB 2016 league. Markus marked this as "fixed" in beta bug forum. I've not seen it happen again, but this user is reporting the same conditions so ... for what's worth.

"I have "Computer AI" set to control every function in the Manager Options screen. I even checked the "Do Not Disturb" box, which literally indicates that "The AI will handle your team and you will not be interrupted during auto-play.""
If you want to sim before taking over as GM, then do it. Quit the job. Don't work for any team. That's what I do before simming. |
