Tusso,

When you buy OOTP you don't get 2 IDs so you can give one away. You get two so you can either run the game on 2 PCs or have an extra to use for a league. "Giving them away" is a sure way to allow people to get the game without buying it - which I'm sure your not suggesting. Even asking that someone "give" you an ID is out of line.

I don't understand why you don't get the IDs from the people who are going to be in your league ?? ..and if your thinking that you can provide the IDs so your league owners don't have to buy the game - then that is illegal and IS hurting someone, Markus.

The one nice thing about getting 12 id's is the ability to give them to 12 "friends" in the league. Saves them from buying the game also.

When OOTP3 was first released I had some guy ask me to give him one of my id's. He said he did not have the money to buy the game. So just give him one of mine, he figured I would not need 3 of them. Steve received his instant message handle right after this so this guy could try and get an id from Steve. Steve went on to tell me how illegal this was. I knew and the reason I told Steve right away. I figured Steve took care of the problem.

Plain and simple don't give out your id's.

This post is 3 days old and people are still bitching about it. Getting the ID from some one in my league or some one on here is the same exact thing. All there doin by giving me an ID is helping me out which is all I asked from the beggining. You guys make it sound like Im having you buy the game for me which isnt true.

Maybe you own the game already, but someone giving you their ID is basically like giving you a free copy of the game. This is why, when the ootp-server went up, people were complaining about giving their ID to their commish. You have to trust your commish not to use the ID to run illegal copies of the game.

We're still bitching because we love this game and we respect Markus et al. I'm sure you do too. When something like this comes up, there is concern that someone is just looking for a free copy of the game. I'm not saying that is what you are trying to do, but anytime someone asks for ID's from someone else, a red flag goes up.

All he wants are the actual IDs so he can scam Andreas into giving him space. He doesn't need the actual IDs for people to play the game. It's just so he can have the space. That's what I'm getting here.

It's not the same thing, Tusso. Not at all. What you're doing is scamming Andreas for the space by telling him that 12 people in your league have IDs, when in fact, they're just 12 random people who may or may not be in your league. You're looking for a loophole, a free game for a friend, or something else. But it's not on the level, no matter how you look at it.

My concern is that newer folks, just having purchased OOTP5 will fall for the misinformation provided by tusso (whether or not his intentions are "innocent”) and give up their Order ID, therefore wrecking their chance of using it in a league that person ends up joining down the road.

Also Tusso: using the scorched earth policy of "I'm not wrong, ALL of you are wrong" adopted by Hornsmaniac, Rockze, jblaze, and other notorious/dubious would-be Commissioners is not going to garner you the support and help you need.

Point remains Tusso,

WHY are you asking for 12 IDs ?
WHAT do you need them for ?
WHERE do you plan to use them?

If you are starting a new league and want space on the OOTP server, you HAVE TO HAVE THE IDs from the owners joining your league. If you do it any other way, it's illegal. Plain and simple.

And if you dissagree, you simply don't get it....

This makes for an interesting read... Guy joins March 1st, this is a summary of his 30 posts in 4 days. Notice the questions versus his claim to not be a "newbie".... Did this out of curiosity.

1.I dled the roster patch and unziped it to the OOTP5 file it wont load the real players. What should I do?

2.I followed those directions the league doesnt come up when I go to open league. it still only has career league there.

3.aaclaim I got that same problem.

5. haha woops! How do I change them to BMP?

6. I read the readme file. I unziped the Tigers_Fan_Roster Facte Patch and I unziped it to the folder called photopack. Then when I go to it it has all the players pictures. Where is the bthumbs.zip file?

7. I just downloaded OOTP5 and I want to start my own league. Where can I download the roster patch so I can use real players. Where do I download the newest roster patch??

8. Tiger Fan I cant find the post my internet is slow takes forever to update. Do you know what the problem is? Why wont it still show on the game if I unziped everything and its a bmp image?

9. Yea. When you go to there picture it says file not found then numbers.bmp But when you go to the photo folder all the pictures are there.

I noticed the inconsistencies too, Henry.

Conclusion: busted. Not sure for what. Sounds like Tusso owns the game, but he's definitely not seasoned, like he says he is.
