Jman, can you check your historical simulation accuracy home run % for me?

I just ran a single season test, using the mlb new season mode and other than changing scouting to be 100% (so i could trust the power ratings), no changes were made on my part.

I ran the one year sim and home runs were +7%. This is post-patch. Pre-patch, i was getting 2-3% increase in home runs.

I'm certainly not saying there is anything wrong, and after all it is just one sim (I am running more) but felt i should chime in with what I am seeing as well. Hoping others can share their results also.

btw. To possibly counter-act any bias, Dave Shoenfield of ESPN recently noted home runs jumped 723 between 2014 and 2015.

The AI should put in somebody with high stamina, and if none are available, they gotta keep the starter in for more than 1-2 innings. At least that was my experience, I saw a team score over 35 runs at Coors and another score over 25 runs at AT&T.
Would you mind posting that on the bugs forum? Probably best to specify that it was with the previous beta version, just in case it was fixed already, but would probably be a good idea to let them know.

The answer to this is no. Miguel Cabrera is on pace for 95 homers in a league with 1 for all the modifiers.

How far into the season? Pace isn't really something to get too caught up in, because it changes all the time early in the season. Now, if he were hitting at that pace half way through the season, then it's certainly concerning.

20-30 games in? Not really.

Ran another one season test, home runs were up 6.3% over 2015 shown in the Historical Simulation Accuracy section of the game. Not saying this is good or bad, just sharing and hopeful someone else might chime in with their sim season results for context?

Yeah that's definitely off. I'll have to do more testing. In my first test sim with this new beta version, Chris Davis won the HR title with 54. That's realistic. But like I said, I'll do more testing.

What a fantastic game. OOTP16 grabbed me some weeks back when I got Win10 with their male announcer and now V17 is even better with more stuff.

Thanks for the patch.

These old eyes are hoping down the road (not too far down) that the ball size in the 3D can be like it is in V16.

Great game...appreciate your work...

Ranking of the home runs hit by player. Russell Martin hit 35 bombs! Hope he does that this year for the Jays.

That doesn't look too bad, I wonder what's going on in my league.

My only concern in looking at it at first blush, is Martin's highest home runs hit for his career is 23, in 2015. Could it happen? Possibly. I do raise an eye-brow somewhat when a 33 year old catcher out-hits his career home run record by 12.

I will continue to run random, one season sims changing nothing but scouting to 100% until I feel comfortable with what I see. Just trying to help the community with my single observations.

yep. just download it & run the file like you did the original link. It should install right over it. very easy.

This poster is experiencing the same issue:

I'm not quite as much an old-timer as you are, but I do remember downloading on DSL. And no, I don't mean the Dominican Summer League.

DSL eh? I remember thinking that was the greatest thing ever after I upgraded from my AOL dial-up.

Hi, Thanks for the quick update.

Just wondering if I should restart my historical seasons after this update or will they be fine?

Thanks

Simmed offensive averages might be high, but my play by play team's offense is the worst I've ever seen.

DSL. Habs and burke were on the nose. This is Merka, 98th in the world in average internet speed (I think it was 98th. Or maybe 92nd? Screw it, somewhere in there).
