This is not necessarily the case. I have never had to run as admin.

Also.. When I downloaded the skins form Add ons central.. it put them in a downloads folder. Do I need to copy and paste the downloaded folder to the actual folder in the data folder for ootp?

After you download them, hit the install button. No need to move anything.

No, once you install the skin.bin files, your images stay in the folder. Just delete the skin.bin and let it rebuild after patching.

Yes I had to right click on the OOTP 17 icon and run as admin. It finally rebuilt the skins.bin file and worked.

I did this but the awards that i had downloaded were not named correctly so I moved the files over from the folder you sent me last year but now i do not have teh skin.bin file to delete.
How do i fix this?
Delete the dark folder and reinstall?

i deleted the dark folder and the ,zip but now i cant re download it. i also reinstalled the game.

How does one with the stupid steam version that doesn't have add ons install the skin files? Can someone add it to the steam workshop? I really don't understand why the steam version can't just add the add ons central link. Previous versions had it.

Ok for some reason the way i did this before isnt working at all.
I uninstalled and reinstalled 17.
I converted one league to 17.
I downloaded and installed the dark skin from add ons central
I exited the game and took the icons from the ootp 16 skin that i wanted and posted them in the 17 dark skin overwriting the previous files.
i deleted the skin.bin and started the game.
no changes.
I then put the skin.bin file back in place and started teh game again still no changes.

i dont know what to do anymore.
Can someone zip their 17 dark skin with the icons and email it to me the_game_hhh76@yahoo.com

For me.. all I have had to do for v17 is:

1. I have a copy of the ootp17 folder within the bbcards folder, then just copy paste after patching.

2. For skins.. the changed award icons stay in place now, just delete the skin.bin file on each one you use (make sure game is closed)

That's it.. once the patch is installed, make sure to right click on the icon on your desktop and check the run as admin box, then do steps 1 and 2 and when finished, open the game. It will take a bit longer the first time as the skin.bin file rebuilds.

MAKE SURE to run the game as ADMIN after deleting the skin.bin file, mine always defaults to normal user and not "run as admin" I have to set that each time (right click on OOTP17 icon and check the box to "run as admin". You know it's working as it will take a big longer when you open the game while it rebuilds the skin.bin file.

Just check the box to always run as admin.

Right click properties, advanced, check the box "run as administrator"

You should only have to run once though to rebuild the skin.bin file but I have it set to always open as administrator.

Thanks, forgot how to do this and the readability of the default icons isn't that great on larger displays. For that same reason I use these icons instead on certain computers. Not as beautiful as the trophy pictures, but more obvious at a glance.
