Yes. The Gold Beta will be the full game. I'm pretty sure it's called "Gold Beta" because it will be the final time the game will be beta tested before it's released to the masses next Tuesday. Those that pre-ordered will get to be the final testers prior to the mass release.

Again, the Gold Beta will be a full game install. Once the game is released to the masses next Tuesday, Markus or Matt Arnold will release patches which contains reported bug fixes. Just download and install the patch over the Gold Beta version. No need to uninstall and re-install the game.

I was only trying to say that even though I'm not exactly tech savvy or extremely knowledgeable about computers, I was able to understand how to do what was asked in the thread.

I have always wondered how the OOTP installation system works when downloading the installer (not Steam). Does it upgrade over what already exists in the installation folder, kind of enlarging the installed files and that is all (not creating any junk after installing and installing over again)?

I've always used Steam just because I don't like the idea of being installing the game over and over again, although if the installations (from the release on) work in the system as mere updates I may change to it this year.

PS: Any clue on the GMT release time, more or less? Thx!

Might be worth noting that if updates are made to the MLB rosters(After the Gold release), you will have to start a new game to see the updates.

With v17.. can we get actual patch files instead of having a full install each time the game is updated?

It's always a pain having to update my skin file, baseball cards, etc.. each time a patch is released.

Exactly why I think I'll just mess around with the new historical exhibition mode for a few days and wait until Tuesday to delve deeper into league play.
