Yeah but I might keep him. He's doing great this season (4-0 with a 2.98 ERA).

Thanks for the tip.

You have to take into account his production for the next 4 years. He may be good, but you should take it slow. A one or two year deal would have better suited him imo.

You are probably right, but I tried and he wouldn't accept anything less than four years.

That's when you offer him a bit more cash.

With the 18th pick of the First-Year Player Draft I selected Jaime Castenada, a Starting Pitcher who has 5 star potential. I selected two more starting pitchers, a center fielder, and a third baseman. I am now 41-30 and in the lead in the division.

Are any of the rest of the picks worthwhile mentions?

A 4.5 star potential center fielder was my second best pick.

I added a 3 year, 5 million dollars per year extension to Mitchell Wamboldt, a 27 year old 4.5 star second baseman.

The all-star game rosters were announced and my two players who made it are Don House and Jeff Castle.

I finished the regular season 94-68, which put me 6 games ahead of the second best team in the Central Division, the Cardinals. Then I lost the first round of the playoffs 2-3 against the Marlins. While losing in the first round is a bummer, I'm shocked that I even got there. I had 10 guys retire, but the only good player who did was Kelvin Herrera, who had a bad season.

Opening Day 2031

The Kansas City Royals ended up winning the 2030 World Series. In the offseason, I decided to sign a free agent who's name is Jesús González. He is a five star 26 year old left fielder who is absolutely amazing. The bad thing is that the only contract he would accept was a five year, 36 million dollars per year contract. I also signed a free agent whose name is José Pérez. He is a 2 star 31 year old starting pitcher who accepted a 12 million dollar one year contract.

I brought up some guys from the minors. These guys include; Jamie Castenada, a 4 star middle reliever with 5 star potential (He was 1 star until opening day), and Jeff McCauley, a 1.5 star second baseman with 4 star potential.

Draft

After 51 games, I am 27-24 and 2.5 games back in the Central Divsion, behind the Milwaukee Brewers. With my first pick in the draft (27) I selected Eduardo Macías, a 2.5 star (5 star potential) middle reliever. With my second pick I selected George Gilliam, a .5 star (4.5 star potential) starting pitcher. With my other picks I selected a second baseman, shortstop, and another starting pitcher.
