I rarely use it. I use it more to keep a player I brought up from minors who is hot playing until rehab assignment is done. Unless it's a star player who was on DL. I get the good players back in lineup asap

Here's another thing about rehab assignments that isn't accurate to real life in the game, for whatever reason: when an MLB team sends a player to the minors for rehab, that player does not count against the roster limit for the minor league club.
This probably means nothing to people who don't have roster limits on their minor league teams, but it's a fact. Example: Josh Hamilton is currently out on rehab to AA Frisco. There are 25 active players on the roster, and Hamilton is listed as "rehab" on their official team site, along with Martin Perez and Matt Hamilton. So that team currently has 28 players. Why do rehab assignments count against roster limits in game? |
