Maybe you should reconsider the random and unnecessary "design tweeks" you've opted to make in this edition. Several have not been well received (auto full-screen, color changes, forced small text) and, worse off, seem to have been done "just because."

This latest "improvement" has rendered the game pretty much unusable for me, so I guess it's the last one I'll be buying.

Just consider that a tweak from the market.

This isn't an issue that has bothered me at all, but as someone involved in the field of assistive/adaptive technology, it is something that OOTP might want to consider in the future as the product's base hopefully expands. Things like font size or misguided color combinations could make the game unplayable for people with visual disabilities, so some thought put into things like that from an accessibility/universal design standpoint couldn't hurt.

What leads you to believe this change was done "just because"? I'm curious.

Some good news: We have found a bug which did cause crashes and Mac (and even on some PCs) while playing out games which was not related to sound. So, this will be fixed in the patch. However, sound will still be automatically disabled when switching to 3D mode on the Mac.

By the way, I don't mean to imply that OOTP hasn't considered this in the past or doesn't consider it now. For all I know, they pay a great deal of attention to this. You can read what I said there more as a truism if you'd like; all I'm saying is that the greater the number of people who can access the game is, the better for everyone, which I'm sure wouldn't meet much disagreement here.

Well, given that this is the first version in which this mandatory change is present and, given the track history of things changed for this edition seemingly "just because" then changed back (or made optional) after the customers voiced their displeasure. . . I think the real question is, given what I just outlined, what would lead anyone to believe it was done for any reason other than "just because?"

In summary, regardless of if this was done for "a reason" or "just because" - making things mandatory for what amounts to a text-based simulation game that used to be optional is not only unacceptable but nonsensical.
